Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute and Right Management are partnering to deliver this dynamic half-day workshop that explores two key issues in leadership development: employee engagement and emotional intelligence.

Part One: Leading With Emotional Intelligence

Featuring the BarOn Emotional Intelligence Inventory

Presented by the Leadership Development Institute

Emotional Intelligence has become a very popular and powerful concept in leadership training.  This forum reviews research demonstrating the critical connection between emotional intelligence and high performance.   After identifying the key components of emotional intelligence, you will discover your own strengths through feedback from a self-report assessment instrument, the BarOn EQi.  Because these crucial skills can be developed and enhanced over time, you will learn practical tips for significantly increasing your leadership impact.

Part one of the workshop will address the following learning objectives:

  • Discovering the hidden driver of superior performance
  • Learning the key elements of emotional intelligence
  • Assessing your own emotional intelligence through the BarOn EQi
  • Discussing steps for building essential leadership skills

Each participant will receive personalized feedback on the
E
motional Quotient Inventory (EQi).

Part Two: How Leaders Drive Workforce Performance

Global Research Highlights & Leadership Best Practices that Impact Engagement

Presented by Right Management

Employee Engagement is becoming an urgent issue for leaders. Why?  Because leadership behaviors directly impact levels of employee engagement, performance, commitment and contribution.  Employee "discontent" is expected to reach crisis levels by next year, with 60% of people reporting that they plan to leave their current employer and 1 in 4 people reporting that they are networking and updating their resumes. Individuals are expressing pent up frustration about how they have been treated through the economic downturn.  This results in a disgruntled workforce, with as many as 50% of employees being disengaged at work.

Part two of the workshop will address the following learning objectives:
  • Building the business case for employee engagement
  • Understanding the critical role leaders and managers play in engaging employees
  • Understanding key leadership behaviors driving employee engagement
  • Recognizing when employees are engaged and disengaged
  • Understanding the best practice leadership behaviors that will impact improved employee engagement and better overall performance
