Gift Cards that you can't use?

GiftCard Don't let that gift card you can't use expire. Try ABC Gift Cards or Gift Card Rescue and Gift Card Castle. Each reimburses anywhere between 65 and 92 cents on the dollar but something, as we all know, is better than nothing. Plastic Jungle and CardPool offer similar deals and with these guys you can redeem your card right on-line.

Download the Syncr Wi-Fi add-on  (same web page) for your desktop and you're good to goInterested in Syncing your Outlook contacts, calendar and notes? Try Companion Link.

Has your E-Mail Account Been Hacked?

Hacked EmailAt least once a week I get an email from one of you laced with a clickable web link that leads to a virus laden website. I'm not the only one listed in the To: field of that email, in fact, most of the time, everybody in your address book has received this same email. In all likelihood your email provider is AOL, Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail. Why?  Because those are the type of accounts where your address book is stored along with your email right on-line. Once the hacker breaks your email password they have immediate access to your address book. Want to see if your email address has made it to a hackers list? Look here.

FaceBook Notes:
Facebook It turns out that "Six Degrees of Separation" is an overstatement. A study reveals that any individual is only 4.74 steps away from being introduced to any other person, not 6. FaceBook, in conjunction with the University of Milan, to approximate the separation between all pairs of FaceBook users found that 99.6% of all pairs were no more than 5 degrees or steps away. 92% were only 4. Hmm.

Beware of FaceBook games. When you agree to participate in a FaceBook game like FarmVille, you are implicitly allowing the software sponsor to access some of your personal data. Game developer Zynga (FarmVille and Mafia Wars) gave user personal information to advertisers and others, violating FaceBook's own privacy policies.

Saint Google?
Google
I don't think so... Effective the 1st of March Google will "cross-pollinate" information from your Google searches, emails on G-Mail,  You-Tube videos, posts on Google+ and applications on that droid enabled phone to create a better "picture" of who you are and supposedly serve you better. Welcome George Orwell and 1984.

  And, Let's Not Forget Verizon....
VZW Verizon has joined Geo-Ads program. That means that if you access the web through Verizon Wireless and or their FIOS service, they have made your Geo-Location available to advertisers so as to better target their advertising! You can opt out of this type of advertising but it's up to you to do that. In other words you are included by default.
