Mrs. Dugger, 5th Grade teacher, Nominated!!

Shady Grove's very own Laura Dugger has been nominated for this year's award! 

Here's how it works:

Vote for your favorite teacher (once per person) on Top Notch Richmond  or Richmondmom.com from 6/1/11-6/12/11. The winner will be announced no later than 6/13/11.  Ask your friends, colleagues, and the mailman to vote, too.  Spread the word and help your favorite teacher win.

The teacher with most unique votes receives $1700+ in prizes (WOW!!), and the 2nd and 3rd place teachers will receive a $50 dinner gift certificate from Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Short Pump!

Shady Grove's State Champ Destination Imagination Team, The Snapagons, (Jaideep, Simon, Jenna, Isabelle, Alex, and Liam) competed last week at Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee.  In a buzzer-beating performance, the team presented their main challenge solution without a single glitch, and the crowd sighed a huge sigh of relief as they closed their equipment box just as time was called.  The appraisers were particularly impressed with their Cardinal teamwork, manners and enthusiasm.  

The team placed 9th in their main challenge and 17th overall with about 70 teams competing, including teams from China, Poland, Turkey, Korea, and England.  The week included conversations with astronauts, science experiments with college students, and awards ceremonies with light shows, fireworks and over 20,000 spectators.  

Thanks to everyone who helped the Snapagons reach their goal.  It was an experience they will never forget!
