President's Message from Kaje Stuckey


The school directory, which the PTA provides to our school, will be distributed within the next week. Thank you very much to Susan Schools and Lisa Weisner who coordinated the gathering of all the contact information and worked with the printer.  The PTA provides one directory per family.  

 

CheckWritingCampaignI would also like to ask folks who have not donated to the check writing campaign to please send in their donations.  We have not reached our goal yet and it impacts all the programs we have planned for all ages in our school.  We are pushing to have 100 percent participation from all our families, AND to have our campaign wrap up by November 19th.  There is a contest going for all people who donate to the check writing campaign by November19th.  Families who have donated by this time will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to Short Pump Town Center.

After School Enrichment Updates


The end date for Tuesday ASE classes is next Tuesday, November 16th while the last Thursday ASE class will now be Thursday, December 2nd rather than November 18th.

ReflectionsReflections PTA Meeting


Don't miss the Reflections Program on Thursday, November 18th at 6:30  p.m.  The Program will begin in the Multi-purpose Room where Participation Certificates will be given out and the Winners will be announced.   A Reception will follow in the Cafeteria, where refreshments will be served and you can view all of the Entries.  We hope to see you there!!
Favorite Series October Winner


On behalf of the Friends of the Twin Hickory Area Library, thank you for participating in our Favorite Series vote.  By doing this, you are helping us to both create a connection between school and public libraries and promote the use and enjoyment of the library!

 

The vote during October for favorite series was a tough race between Judy Moody and Stink, but in the end, Stink prevailed.  Liam, from Shady Grove ES was our $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble winner and he also won his school a $10 gift card as well.  Liam and all future prize winners will be able to pick their gift card up at the Children's desk at the Twin Hickory Area Library for the next month.  The gift card for the winning school will be delivered to that school.

 

We hope you and your students enjoy this friendly voting process with the chance to win!  Who will win in November...........Captain Underpants or Babymouse?
