Message from President Tom Taylor, August, 2011

Velkommen to our Poulsbo business community and potential visitors to our area.  We kicked off our month with our annual 3rd of July celebration as only Poulsbo can do. Our downtown business's have been a flurry of activity with all the tourist and visitors that have come to our area. Business has been going well with only two store front's available at last count and both with potential tenants.  We continue to have some of the top cuisine in Kitsap county with a full array of taste encounters to choose from and top it all off at one of our bakeries with delicious pastries done Norwegian style.

To complete our July we had the chamber of commerce golf classic on July 28th at the Port Ludlow Golf Club.  August promises to be a joyful time in Poulsbo with our HDPA putting on the Annual street dance that is always popular and delicious. Festivities for this event will be on August 13th beginning at 3:00 p.m. when the street closes and dancing and bands will stop at 11:00 p.m.  It's always a great time, so come out and join us.

On any Saturday you can enjoy the Farmers Market located at The Doctors Clinic parking lot on 7th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  There's lots of food, produce, crafts, and vender booths as well as music to enjoy.

Our up coming chamber luncheon will be on August 10th at 11:30 a.m. at the Kiana Lodge off Hwy 305 on Sandy Hook Road.  Our speakers this month are Sherry Appleton and our own Mayor Becky Erickson.  Reporting on our state and local budget and economic outlook for the remainder of 2011.  I know that if we continue to work together as a community, support our city, chamber, and local business's, we will continue to grow and thrive to beat this economic slump.  Take advantage of your local community and surrounding area and enjoy life with your friends and new acquaintances.  Let's all welcome visitors and tourist to the area as well as potential new business's and residents. We are experiencing good growth to our community and look forward to a continued good outlook for the months and years to come.  Follow our Weekly E-blasts for after hours and ribbon cutting's to come.  I look forward to seeing you somewhere sometime this next month.

Regards,

Tom Taylor, President    |
