Message from President Lincoln, December 2010
Dear Members,
Happy Holidays, it has been a whirlwind year that has truly flown by. It has been my distinct pleasure to have served as your President. I have had a very unique opportunity to learn about the Greater Poulsbo Chamber and businesses that have chosen to be members of such a wonderful group. This year has brought the creation of the Buy Local program, successful events, educational opportunities and countless networking opportunities. I wish to thank the Board of Directors for their diligent efforts in navigating through some challenging economic times. I would also like to thank our Executive Director and Administrative Assistant, as well as the many volunteers that work very hard to continue to meet the needs of the business community through the Chamber.
We are expected to continue to see many economic challenges face the business community in the coming year. Your Board is poised to be proactive and do many positive things. It is incumbent upon you - the member - to remain active and bring to the forefront issues and concerns that you believe need to be addressed. I encourage everyone to communicate with your Board of Directors and the Executive Director. One of my biggest mantras has always been (when you are a member of anything) to "follow your money." If you are joining any organization the only effective way to benefit from that investment is to become active in that organization. Your Chamber needs you to either remain involved or become involved. The future of the business community depends upon having a clear, concise and unified business voice.
Last but certainly not least, I would encourage once again everyone taking the time to nominate members of the community that have given of themselves to enhance our community for one of the awards that will be given out on January 28th . The Chamber Annual Awards Banquet recognizes contributions made to and for the Greater Poulsbo community. I invite you to save the date and join us in honoring the Jewels of Poulsbo.
Yours truly,
Linda M. Lincoln, President

As we head into the Holiday Season and our time commitments grow, let's remember our families and friends. It is the season of giving so I hope we can find it in all of our hearts to share with those less fortunate. We all consider this economic situation trying but many of us are more fortunate than others, so let's do what we can to help.
Volunteers are always welcome at Fishline, especially to give our Christmas food baskets the week of December 20th. Fishline may also still have needy families that you can adopt and make their Christmas a little sweeter.
Acupuncture and Wellness will be hosting our Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce After-Hours this year at their clinic located at 18870 - 8th Avenue NE, Suite 108. We will begin at 5:30 p.m. and remember that this event replaces our normal luncheon for the month of December. We have contacted Christ Memorial Church to see if we can use their parking lot and will give you an update on that in the next Weekly Update.
I want to thank all of our members for their support of this chamber. In the past couple of months we have accepted over a dozen new members into our chamber and they are all impressed with the friendly members we have here. Thank you for making all new members welcome and excited to be with us.
Donna and I and all of our volunteers hope that you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and that 2011 brings prosperity to every business.
Adele Heinrich, Executive Director |

Ambassador's Corner
Greetings! My name is Julie Krucek, owner of Jaks Café /Catering & Espresso at 19355 Jensen Way in Poulsbo. I was raised here in the North Kitsap area and attended North Kitsap schools. I have been involved in the food industry among other business ventures most of my life and in 2007 took the leap to open my own café. I joined the Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce shortly after I opened my business and also became an Ambassador for the Chamber.
The Ambassador program is a great experience to help our community grow and become aware of all the business opportunities here in our wonderful town. We share ideas not only with all the Ambassadors and the Chamber Board of Directors, but reach out to business owners for ideas to help our community thrive and grow. You will see us at community events dressed in our red vest or jackets welcoming guests, networking and helping out whenever we can. If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador we encourage you, as a business owner, to attend one of our meetings on the second Thursday of each month 9:30 a.m. at Jaks Café as our guest. It's a great way to volunteer for our community and a great source of Networking. We have some great events coming up in the new year so get involved and have some fun !!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!! |
