Winter Solstice Celebration
Ancient Sun, eternally young, giver of life and source of energy... You kindle the heavens, you shine within us (for we are suns with hearts afire--we light the world as you light the sky and find clouds within whose shadows are dark). We give thanks for your rays.
Congregation of Abraxas
Winter Solstice has long been seen as the most significant time of the Solar Cycle - the Solar NEW YEAR, new beginnings marked by the Birth of the Sun.
So we gather again to Celebrate LIGHT in magical surroundings with Spirit-filled Community. We begin with our usual Despacho Ceremony, in keeping with Inka and Hopi teachings of the importance of prayers for All of Creation (read more below).
WHEN: Sunday, December 20th, 5:00 pm
WHERE: Fiona and Linda's Home, Salem
BRING: Potluck, $20 for ceremony & supplies

Hopi Wisdom
O Hidden Life in every atom,
O Hidden Light! shining in every creature,
O Hidden Love! embracing all in Oneness,
May each who feels himself as one with Thee
Know he is also one with every other.
Annie Besant
On my last evening in Arizona, I got to sit on this hill and wach the Sun go down over the land of the Hopi people. It was so quiet and peaceful there. Hopi Elders are sharing their wisdom and prophecies about the coming of the Fifth World, a new World Age filled with potential for Peace and Prosperity for All, if we but listen.
They speak of the importance of being One with the Earth, practicing self sufficiency, and Celebrating Life with prayers and thanksgiving in every season. December 21st is the time they start "praying again for everyone and everything in the whold world".
