Some of you may know that I'm from the ROCK - a unique place of natural beauty, culture and history. The brochure is almost ready to go out. You can see photos from last year's tour on my website.
There is room for only a small group, so if you're interested in the adventure, let me know, the tour boat is waiting! |
Fire Ceremony -Old Made New
"Fire was never far from ceremony" writes Stephen J. Pyne in his book on the history of fire from prehistoric times to present. Our ancestors marked the cycles of the moon, the seasons and their lives with ceremony and fire. Apart from its necessity to warm and light our hearths and homes, fire stirs something deep inside us, calling us to a soulful, instinctual way of life. In the midst of our busy modern lives we can come to fire to renew ourselves, connect with the Sacred and the realm of Spirit. Fire transforms and refines - it changes matter into heat and light; it takes tightly bound energy and focuses it. With intention we can energetically and literally release to the fire what no longer serves us and free that energy for something new. The symbolic release of the old invokes the energy of positive change to move in a new direction. Fire nurtures and feeds our inner fires, our passions. We gather around a fire in community with others, to offer prayers of peace, healing and thanksgiving. It provides an opportunity to celebrate life, to connect with the rhythms of nature, to give something back in gratitude for all we have been given.
Fire ceremony brings us into deeper communion with ourselves, each other and with the Spirit that infuses all life. |
