It's the Weekly What? for Friday, July 27th.

Stop fooling around and get on with it.

We've been getting a lot of complaints lately about angry bosses, missed deadlines, folks not reading their TPS Reports, neglected FarmVille accounts, and other assorted work-place productivity horrors too... horrible... to relate here. And the reason behind all this office space angst? You're reading it! That's right, the Weekly What? was cited as the number one reason for lost productivity by middle managers, HR personnel, and Assistants to Regional Managers. To address this unfortunate situation we're proud to introduce the Weekly What? Lite. A smaller, more compact reading experience with 33% less time wasted! Fabulous! After reading, please return immediately to work. Later, on your own time, you're most welcome to stop by our Facebook page to answer this week's question: "What's your favorite summertime activity?"

You know the scariest part of networking?

Having to talk to other people. Yeah. Nothing makes our blood run cold like the prospect of having to mingle with a roomful of people we don't know. However, consultant Ilise Benun has a great idea for starting up conversations... And it's not challenging everyone to a winner-take-all Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock tournament >>

This is why iPads were invented, right?

Some have suggested that the Internet is made of cats, and there may be some kernel of truth to that, but there's no denying that iPads (and the like) with their touch sensitive screens and utter lack of buttons were made for cats. Not humans with our clumsy poking, pinching, and swiping. No, cats have it right: you just put your whole hand right on there. Not for dogs, obviously. >>

Google isn't just about searching with words, you know...

You can search with images. No, not for images. With images. Remember that trip you went on last year to that one place and took a photo of that one building that was really famous or something but you can't remember why or what is was called? Using only that image and Google, you can find out! It's freakishly cool! >>

Question? Comment? Find a typo? Got something you think should be in the newsletter? Talk back to us and let us know! (We need something to do since the monkeys do all the writing.)

And now for a page from the Planet of The Apes Employee Handbook:

Like something handed down from the Lawgiver himself, we present these "10 Laws of Productivity." Yeah, actual laws so you know they're serious business. Wait... where's the law about napping? >>

Extreme cake making: Not for the faint of heart

Not anybody can make a blue cake. Wait, what? Yes! A blue cake. The "Royal Blue Velvet Cake" to be precise. Yes, precisely so: it is Royal Blue. And judging from the comments after the recipe, if you can successfully pull this one off with out it coming out tasting like a cyan-colored bath sponge, you will have attained the rank of Super Awesome Baker. Remember: The key is a toothpickful of violet! >>

Time to get back to work! But first...

How about a power nap? Hey, a quick nap boosts productivity far batter than caffeine or whatever the heck it is that they put into Red Bull. Seriously. So unroll that yoga mat under your desk and catch a few winks. Your boss will be glad you did! Oh ha ha ha! Seriously, get back to work. Zzzzzz >>

The Weekly What? is more fun when you share! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below... keep going... a little farther down... there it is! Send this newsletter to a friend! Don't worry, we won't hit them up for money.
