It's the Weekly What? for Friday, April 13th.

We hope you're wearing your lucky socks!

Because it's another Friday the 13th! Didn't we have one of these not too long ago?? Whatever, like we always say: there ain't nothin' bad about a Friday! Also: Umbrellas indoors, walking under ladders, blah, blah, etc. However, you can counter any possible bad luck by simply reading this newsletter in its entirety and forwarding it to ten people from your address book. Easy peasy good luck! You'll find lots of great stuff in this week's news letter. If you look at nothing else, make sure you go check out the story about Caine's Arcade. There's even more rad stuff on our Facebook page, like a rad job with LEGO, where the Simpson's home town of Springfield is really located, and tons more! Go check it out! While you're there, please take a moment and answer the Weekly What? question: "If you could be any cartoon character, who would you be?"

Before we get started, let's brew a fresh cup of tea.

Good thing we don't have access to all these teas in their jazzy-doo teabag designs or we'd be drinking ourselves soggy! (Not to mention all the pee breaks.) Tea drinkers have all the fun! >>

Absolutely the last Peeps post until 2013...

It's a giant Peeps cake! Actually it's more of a giant Peeps cake fail. Don't get us wrong, we love the effort, it's just that the result looks a bit more like Bubbie the big blue whale than a marshmallow chick. Behold! The Peeps cake! >>

Whoops! I made a clean spot!

Here's a hot new idea in outdoor advertising: Pressure washing sidewalks with a stencil. Blast the stencil for a bit, peel it up and ta-dah! You've got a sparkling clean section of sidewalk in the design of a company logo, etc. It's not permanent, leaves no residue, and apparently uses far less water than manufacturing other, more conventional types of media like vinyl. Squeaky clean advertising! >>

How-to: Make your own wax seal!

Nothing says "This is an incredibly important message on paper" quite like a wax seal does. Or fancy pants-ness. Not actually pants, but the idea of fanciness. Oh, you know what we mean. And it's just plain cool. Watch your fingers! >>

Flipping search engines... how do they work??

Ever wondered just how a search engine worked? What's the engine for, anyway? Is there a Search Car or Search Truck somewhere that's missing its engine?? Hmm... the Internets work in mysterious ways. Well no more! Watch this short video and you're sure to be a conversation hit at your next cocktail party! Watch it! >>

Awesome potato chip package design!

You know how you're eating Pringles (or similar) and when the level drops to a certain point you...just...can't get your...fingers down far enough into the can. Then your hand gets stuck in the can. Extricating your hand, you turn the whole can up against yer gob and crunch away like a pig. Yep, that's a sure-fire way to prevent chip-thieves from trying to rustle yer russets. Anyway, here's an awesome concept that allows the container to open out into a bowl shape to prevent stuck hands and facilitate sharing with freeloading coworkers. Crunch crunch crunch... hey! Don't take 'em all! >>

Free Font Friday!!

Yay! The only thing better than free fonts is free donuts! Right? Here's a collection of rather nice looking fonts for your perusal. Can't help you on the donuts. Sorry. Check 'em out!>>

Restore your faith in humanity with one click...

Okay, so this 9 year-old kid spends his summer vacation hanging out at his dad's auto parts store. He builds a small arcade out of cardboard boxes. Ball games, a prize claw, all kinds of stuff. The games dispense tickets (you HAVE to see how that works!!), and he has a prize wall. He even has a Fun Pass with a security system to ensure their authenticity! Sad this is he gets almost NO visitors. Until one day a guy walks in looking for a car part. He just happens to be a filmmaker. Amazingly wonderful things ensue. You may want to keep a couple of tissues handy. Flynn's got nothing on this! >>

Bonus: Three days after the video debuts on the Internet, people from all over have donated more than $100,000 to the boy's college fund. Awesome.

Okay, so we lied.

THIS is absolutely, positively the last ever post about Peeps until next Easter. We swear. At least until something else that cool comes along. It's the Vancouver, Washington, City Council rendered as Peeps! And a commenting plastic dinosaur citizen! (Via our friends at the Daily Insider) Okay, we're done with Peeps. Go take a look! >>

Share the fun with a friend! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below. They'll be glad you did!
