It's the Weekly What? for Friday, April 6th.

Countdown to the sugar rush. 3...2...1...

There's only one time of the year that we even consider indulging in that ambrosia known as "Peeps." And it's coming this weekend. Can you feel it? Sure, Monday will be a time of sugar hangovers, carrot sticks, and garden salads, but Easter belongs to the Peeps. Peeps. Peeps. And there will be a whole lotta Peeps to get through. (We apologize for our single-track mind, but really Peeps.) So anyway, there's lots more non-Peeps stuff over on our Facebook page, go check it out. While you're there, please take a moment and answer the Weekly What? question: "What's your favorite Easter memory?"

Unfortunately April Fools' Day fell on a Sunday...

So you're going to have to endure a few past-their-expiration-date April Fools' gags. Bacon scented cat litter? Forget 3-D printers, how about a Kitten Printer? And Google ups the ante with their amazing tech innovations. Ya gotta see 'em to see 'em! >>

A cute widdle bunny made wif cute widdle baby socks!

Omigosh. This is cute squared. We can barely even type this out we're just so all a-squee over the cuteness. Must...go...look...at...insanely...cute...sock bunny...again... Do NOT eat any Peeps before viewing this super cute craft project! >>

We love Peeps, but sometimes...

Sometimes all that sugar just makes us a bit too crazy. We tried giving the monkeys a bunch of Peeps as a treat once. Once. Couldn't get them back hammering away at their Smith-Coronas until a good day later! So we found these fantastic paper-craft Peeps bunnies that we could print out and fold up. We filled them up with Monkey Chow and gave them to the monkeys. Yeah, a riot ensued. Go make your own! >>

Fashion break!

First up we have a sassy little skirt inspired by a certain little droid from a galaxy far, far away: R2-D2! Boop beep boop! >>

Make a rebellious impression at your next cocktail party outing with this kicky number styled after the flight suits of the rebellion's X-Wing pilots! Ooo swish! >>

Wait... were both those things "Star Wars" themed? Maybe we need to get out more...

Sorry for this jarring change of gears, but...

Measuring the effects of one's efforts is always a good idea. It can be difficult in marketing activities, especially off-line (non web-based), but the results can provide a much clearer picture of what's working and what needs to be changed. Plus, you get to roll out phrases like "effective ROI," "leveraging brand assets," and everybody's favorite "paradigm shifting marketing initiative." Fortunately you'll find none of that bovine residue in this article focusing on the need for colleges to start measuring the return on investment of marketing initiatives. Read more >>

The confluence of science and art...

You might think that data on sea currents might be more boring than watching a televised cricket match, but when one starts looking for ways to visualize data, that's where things get really interesting. Sometimes even beautiful. Check out this visualization project created by NASA showing how the Earth's oceans are aswirl with currents. Make sure you watch the video... it's incredible! Ooo! and Ahh! >>

Are you "crazy cat people"?

And would you really want to suggest to a huge, tattoo-covered dude that he might be "crazy" because his cat "gets" him? No. Neither would we. It's nice to know that it's okay to be a "cat person." So long as you avoid wearing the bathrobe all day long and mumbling to yourself you'll be okay. Meow >>

LEGO robots for real science

This story is just full of win: One, it's about using LEGO Mindstorms robots; Two, it's about cool science; Three, it's about thinking outside the proverbial box (when it comes to lab equipment); Four, it's about saving money; Five, LEGO robots... oh wait. We already said that one. Well hey! LEGO robots! Super cool! And they're being used as actual lab equipment to do actual work. Awesome. Check it out! >>

DIY gigantic creme egg! Oh the humanity!

This one stunned us into temporary paralysis. Couldn't type. In fact, we're quite sure that we've significantly increased our risk of developing diabetes just having read the how-to article. You've been warned. Read at your own risk! >>
