It's the Weekly What? for Friday, December 2nd.

It's a post-tryptophan stupor, between-the-holidays recap extravaganza!

Did you miss us? Well we missed you! (That is to say, we missed the thought of a few bored and lonely souls dragging their eyes through this newsletter while swilling rancid coffee.) Anyone want to share holiday family gathering horror stories? On second thought, maybe we shouldn't go there. Anyway, we've got a lot of missed link-fun to make up for so hang on, it's going to be a weird and wild ride! There's no way we can cram everything in here so be sure to head over to our Facebook page for all the weird and wacky extra stuff! While you're there, take a moment and answer the Weekly What? question: "How do you relieve stress?" (This question not inspired by recent holiday family gatherings. Honest!)

We'll see you there!

Paper isn't just for printing on or making into paper airplanes.

You have to go check this out. While the exhibit itself is long gone, through the wonder of Internet tubes you can still gaze upon some amazing paper art. Sculpture? Illustration? Installation? It's up to you, just go check it out! See! >>

Make it yourself: Pumpkin spice latte.

Apparently, once made and imbibed, this drink will have you thinking of warm whiskered mittens and warm woolen kittens... or something like that. It does look really good and seems fairly easy to make. We've certainly been having weather appropriate for this sort of thing so get to the kitchen and get busy! Bonus points if you drink it out of a jar >>

Security alert! Security alert!

Please stop using stupid, obvious passwords. (Yes you. You there in the back. We're looking at you.) A password like "123456" just doesn't cut it. And who on Earth would think "password" was a clever password?? Wouldn't even keep a toddler out of your NetFlix account. For your edification, here's a review of the worst passwords of 2011. 000000 >>

Printing nightmares: Pantone ink color shifting!

Okay, we realize this might be a boring subject, but please try to stay awake. It's important. (To some of us.) We aren't being whiny black-turtleneck-wearing arty types when we talk about color shifting and color reproduction difficulties. And the bit about blue being a difficult color is also true! Even if you're intensely uninterested in color on the press, you can pick up some fun color names like "Carbozole Violet" or "Quinacridone Red." The blue! The blue! >>

THIS is how we should be traveling the skies!

Here's a gallery of incredible color photographs of the interior of the Hindenburg. The accommodations are absolutely incredible. Do you think the state of air travel has improved over the past 70 years? After looking at these photos we're not so sure. Just make sure you have your ticket >>

Guess what? Facebook shrunk the world!

Remember the whole concept of "six degrees of separation" in that every person on this planet is connected to every other person by no more than six connections? Well apparently Facebook has gone and reduced that down to just four. So mind your manners. Read more >>

Susan Kare. Arguably the creator of the "face" of Macintosh computers.

One of the things that drew us to the Macintosh way back when was the wonderful designs of the various interface icons. Here's a brief article on an "icon" of interface design, Susan Kare. She was the creator of the original "happy Mac" face, the paintbrush, and many others. We also get a glimpse at some of her original sketches (on graph paper!). "something interesting" >>

DIY: Infinity Scarf

It's a scarf that just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. It's actually pretty sharp and easy to do! And on and on and on and on >>

End-of-the-newsletter-chuckle:

Oh... poor Microsoft. They try so hard but don't quite make it with their new "TellMe" voice command software. Watch this rather amusing comparison between a Windows phone with "TellMe" and an iPhone with Siri. Stain detector simo. What? >>

Share this with a friend! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below. They'll be glad you did!
