Hallowe'en is just around the corner! Are you ready?

Quick tip: Be one of the cool houses that hands out FULL-SIZED candy bars. The kids will love you for it! Also, please email us your home address so we can enter you in... um, a contest. Anyway, we've done all we could to get you ready for all the Hallowe'en parties this weekend so now it's up to you. Did you know the current state of computer graphics is due to an arbitrary decision made more than 50 years ago?

Yep. In 1957, when scientist Russell Kirsch created the first digital image (a scanned image of his infant son) he and his colleagues settled on a grid of square picture elements (pixels) to create the image. Now he says that it was a "foolish" thing to do and is setting about fixing the issue. (Bonus info: He's now 81 and obviously still has mad skillz. Super bonus: He lives in Portland, OR.)
