It's the Weekly What? for Friday, September 16th.

A little bit of food and art for you this week.

We apologize for last week's utterly boring, soul-crushing newsletter. We thought we'd bring you a little culture this week, via food and art: Watermelon lamps and goofy sculptures! Quality stuff! Visit our Facebook page for even more stuff that didn't make the cut. You'll be sorry if you don't. While you're there, take a minute to answer the Weekly What? question: "If you could be any cartoon character, who would you be?"

We'll see you there!

You have a logo, do you have the owner's manual?

A "graphic standards manual" is like the owner's manual for your logo and will help you protect one of your business's greatest assets and employ it to the greatest effect. Read more >>

Let's start out with some extreme food fun...

Crazy cooking gadget? Personal computer? Both! Apparently some guy in Japan has been using his MacBook Air in the kitchen, and not to look up recipes. Nope. Peeling carrots, cutting bacon. (Mmm, bacon...), and other stuff. Mushrooms. Ugh. Bam! >>

Do you call it a "soda"? Or a "pop"?

Please don't say "But I call it 'soda pop'!" Nobody likes a smart aleck. Anyway, this infographic neatly displays the regional distributions for soda sippers and partakers of pop. A large chunk of the south just calls it all "coke." If you look closely you'll see there are small pockets of folks who use "other" terms. Weirdos. I wanna pop-op-op! >>

A large tree with a tiny treehouse...

Actually, that's an even tinier treehouse in a broccoli floret! We love this since we call broccoli "tiny trees." You know, as in "You want some cheese sauce with your tiny trees? Ahhh! Look out! The cheese lava is burying the forest!!" and then the cheese sauce is taken away from us... Take a look >>

Got any watermelon left?

Scoop out the insides and turn it into a lantern! Then, when you're all done, eat the melon-y insides! Illuminating! >>

Okay, time to don black turtlenecks: Time to get arty!

Here's a cool gallery of public art from around the world. Giant stuffed bunnies, sidewalk eggs sunny side up, giant cows made from scrapped cars, and a life-sized Gundam! (#6). The coolest is probably "Moebius" (#2). Make sure you watch the movie. Go see! >>

An interview with the designer of the Apple Computer logo.

An interesting peek in to the creation of an iconic logo. Interestingly the "bite" out of the logo is not a reference to a computer "byte." Just a coincidence! Read more >>

Toyota's crazy "interactive" marketing campaign gets it sued.

Whether or not you think the plaintiff's claim is outlandish we think you'll agree that Toyota was probably off it's rocker when it signed off on this "punkd"-style marketing campaign. It's one thing to be creative and edgy, but this is verging on crazytown. Give it a read >>

Guy tries to ride his new motorcycle, but it's not what it seems...

There's not much we can say without spoiling it. You just have to watch it! Go watch! >>
