It's Friday again! Really, do we need to say more?
We've got lots of good things for you to check out this week! You may as well go ahead and clock out now.
A cat photographer (no, not a person who photographs cats, and actual CAT photographer), craftiness, a dirty painter, and a totally engrossing, time-sucking game. So much good stuff! Billable hours? Who needs 'em?? Then, in a couple of hours, when you're done with all that, get on over to our Facebook page and leave your answer to the MDS Weekly What? "If you could only subscribe to one magazine for the rest of your life, which one would it be?" Oooo. That's a good one. Tricky, too. Nat Geo? Wired?? The Enquirer??? (Or is that considered a newspaper?)
We'll see you there!
Graphic file format basics.
EPS, TIFF, JPEG, GIF. EIEIO. This article will help you sort out the alphabet soup of graphic file formats and the difference between "vector" and "raster." Read on >>
Meet Cooper, the shutterbug feline.
We were going to save the best for last, but we just can't wait. You HAVE to see this!! Cooper is a cat. His owners fitted him with a small digital camera that takes a photo every two minutes. Cooper goes out and about, doing his cat thing and brings back the photographic evidence of his wanderings. There's even a book! There are some really interesting photos that give us humans a peek into the secret lives of cats. Say cheese! >>
Take a look at these "dirty" pictures!
Okay, so you've got a dirty car. You can barely see through the windows! Our first instinct would be to park the car where we couldn't see it, but this guy Scott Wade? He gets out his paint brushes and goes to work to turn the dirty windows into works of art! Go look at some dirty pictures! >>
Got some old maps laying around? Make something!
Now that you use a GPS or Mapquest what to do with all the paper maps you've got laying around? Here's a great collection of fun ideas for re-purposing them: buttons, earrings, wrapping paper, stationery, greeting cards... all kinds of cool stuff! Take a look! >>
This is seriously a non-productive use of your time.
Does your mouse have a scroll wheel (or a touch sensitive area that functions like a scroll wheel)? If so, great! Go check out "Record Tripping," a fun, and trippy, online game. It's seriously funky. If your mouse doesn't have a scroll-wheel? Sorry, you'll just have to get back to work early! Get clicking and tripping! >>
