 Australia Day 2010
January 26th is Australia Day, we celebrate it because it is the day that Lieutenant Governor Aurthur Philip arrived at Botany Bay with the first fleet of convicts and free settlers in 1788. The contribution that America made by rebelling against English rule can not be underestimated in influencing the English to embark on what later became Australia.

 To Celebrate
We will be having one of our National dishes as a special most days this month. The Australian Meat Pie, traditionally made of beef, not kangaroo, was and still is the take out food of a nation, eaten with passion at footy (football) matches and consumed across the country for lunch at school "Tuck Shops" (Canteens) Don't miss this opportunity to try one, you might even want to order a whole one to take home for the family.

My Space
My Space has a special place in our heart, it was our earliest foray into social networking, when Traci, one of our earliest employees insisted we needed a page, she set it up for us, and Rita and I were frankly clueless as to what to do with it. So when Traci moved on, my space just stopped. I managed to get into it the other day and have dusted off a bit to prepare for a new era. There is some stuff there from when we first opened, a bit of time capsule, but we will get our "my space" profile up to speed again, for all of you who prefer my space.

Website Changes
This
is an under statement. I got some outside advice and in the process I
was sacked from doing the website. And there I thought I was doing a
pretty bloody good job. Cyndy Schatz from Got Web Skills, is making
the changes, and we are looking forward to an easy to navigate
professional site worthy of the excellent product that we produce. The
New Site is not live yet, and I apologize for some of the issues of the
current website but it is going to be worth the wait. I will announce

 New Sweet Potato Cheese Cake
For fans of the New York Style Cheese Cake you have to try this, born out of necessity over the holiday season, we just couldn't get enough fresh pumpkin, and I'd all rather cut both my legs off with a plastic butter knife than use the canned stuff. So we used Sweet potato, and you know what they turned out excellent, so now we have produced a New York style cheese cake with Sweet Potato and it rocks. Come down and try it, I think you will be delightfully surprised. Of course you can buy it by the slice or order a whole cake.

Cake of the Month
Rob French of Gridlock films took this delightful photo of his son Alex's birthday cake, which is our basic chocolate cake. It reminded me what a truly awesome cake it is. Gluten free, dairy free, simple unpretentious and decadently delicious. Decorated with fresh ripe berries, an absolute work of art. This cake is one of our staples, there is always one in the cabinet, and we make them all the time for celebration cakes, and what is more we even make this cake in a packet mix with really simple instructions, and unlike so many packet mixes you buy in the store, the packet mix produces the exact same 9 inch cake that you will see in our cabinet.

Our Breads
Golden Flax Bread
This is our regular house bread it's a savory bread, the same that we use for our delicious sandwiches. It's light, it's fluffy it's nutty in taste and soft in texture. It's flavor is derived
from the fresh golden flax seeds that we grind into it every day. It is low in sodium, and low in sugar. It comes in loaves, hamburger buns and pizza bases.
All of our breads, can be sliced, wafer thin for sandwiches,or chunky thick for toasting. They don't crumble before or after freezing. They make excellent croutons and is second to none for french toast.
Raisin Bread
This is a sweet bread that comes in a full size loaf or a bun. It is best described as a breakfast bread. It is lightly sweetened, and also comes with an abundance of raisins.
Rye Loaf
Of course this doesn't have any rye in it, but we messed about with other names, and decided that a rye doesn't taste like rye because of rye, it tastes like it does because of carraway seeds, so lets just call it what it tastes like, and it absolutely has the taste and texture of a German Rye bread, it has to be tried to be believed.
