The Little Aussie Bakery and Cafe opened for business on the 29th of November, 2006, and we would like to thank all of our loyal customers, welcome our new customers with some pretty sexy promotions and przes for the entire month of November, so keep your eye on your inbox because there are going to be some great deals

Website Changes
Some of you who have visited our website recently will have noticed some of the changes. And I have to thank you for your patience. We are working toward streamlining ordering and increasing readability with a change in color scheme. The Newsletter too is reflecting some of those changes, and I know some of the pages are unfinished, like our site map, which will be a huge help in getting around the site. Not to mention the improvement in our pictures, many of them act as thumbnails, so when you click on them, a full size picture of our bread comes up, for example. Any comments or suggestions with regard to changes made, or changes you think would be good are welcome.

Thanks giving Orders
Thanksgiving is always a busy time for us and we have learnt many lessons from our experiences from the last two thanks givings we have experienced. We are of course going to make all of your favorite thanksgiving treats. Pecan Pie, pumpkin pie, fruit pies, cookies and custom cakes.
Get your orders in early, we have relaunched our seasonal page, where you can download an order sheet. Just follow the link below. Last ordering day for Thanksgiving will be Sunday 22nd of October. This is for specialty Thanksgiving orders, other regular orders are as normal. And don't forget we are closed for thanksgiving itself on the 26th

Our New Buttery Flax Spread "New Product"
We have for a while now had a sample tray of our breads for folks to try as they come in, and this great tasting product was born out of the frustration of having to cater to customers that also had lactose issues, so we created this product which again eliminates the most common allergens, and still tastes great. It is made from freshly ground golden flax, olive oil, palm butter and garlic. It is easy to spread, even fresh from the fridge, and it tastes delicious with all of our bread products. We also have garlic butter available at the same price This product is only available for in store pick up. 8ozs by volume $5.50

Gluten free bread for Communion
Several local churches have asked us to produce various gluten free products to act as host in communion. So we now produce various representations of gluten free host, including wafers, while some other churches have preferred our regular bread products, it this is something your church has been looking for and it hasn't occurred to you to ask us, feel free, since we are doing it for a couple of churches we would happily accommodate the gluten free needs of more. Some of these churches are actually using our product exclusively because it keeps things simple, and ours tends to eliminate the majority of allergens, without any compromise to flavor.

 Our Rye Loaf
For those of you who are yet to try our Rye loaf, you don't know what you are missing. This really has been quite an achievement. While it has no Rye in it, it tastes and has the texture of a good German Rye loaf with no compromise whatsoever. It even gets better with age. It is good when it is fresh, its great day 2, and fantastic day 3. If you haven't tried it yet it is a must, and with the way it ages, it is an ideal bread for shipping.

Gluten Free Info Gem
Living a gluten free lifestyle, can be a little more challenging than it first appears. Even now when we are living in a much more gluten conscious environment, there are all kinds of hidden places that gluten can be in ingredients that don't sound or look anything like gluten, wheat, or flour. For example, modified food starch is wheat based. Glucose syrup is often from a wheat source and be contaminated. Some colored rums can have caramel in it which has wheat as an ingredient. Even "corn" bread has a significant amount of wheat in it.. So if you are serious about living a gluten free diet it does take a little dedication and research. But don't be down hearted, there is plenty of info out there if you look, and you have got us.

Carols by Candlelight

With mounting interest Carols by Candle light looks like it is going to fly this year on Friday the 18th of December after we close. So we will be kicking off about 7pm. So keep the date in your calender open, and while we have some interest in participation, a key board player would be wonderful and more choral experience would be great.
What would be nice, is a few volunteers, with some choral experience, some people with musical instruments who can play them and some community interest. Anyone interested in any aspect highlighted above right down to just attending, let us know by email:

Brunch For Two
Thank you to all those who updated you profiles so we better know how to cater to your needs. We have not yet started to send out differentiated news, but it will be coming soon, there are still plenty of you who have not updated your profiles, so we are going to make this a monthly draw, all those who sign up for our newsletter and then update their profile, and our veteran customers who update their profiles will go into the monthly draw for a brunch for two, and there are two winners every month.

Cake of the Month
Our cake of the month for November is our Iced lemon delicious Cake. This is a butter cake, and the cake is flavoured with high quality lemon oil as is the icing, delightfully decorated with fresh slices of lime and a smattering of ripe blackberries, served slightly warmed to bring out the delicious lemony flavor, and this cake is packed with it, you are definitely going to want to take some pieces home, it really has to be tried to be believed.

Our Breads
Golden Flax Bread
This is our regular house bread it's a savory bread, the same that we use for our delicious sandwiches. It's light, it's fluffy it's nutty in taste and soft in texture. It's flavor is derived
from the fresh golden flax seeds that we grind into it every day. It is low in sodium, and low in sugar. It comes in loaves, hamburger buns and pizza bases.
All of our breads, can be sliced, wafer thin for sandwiches,or chunky thick for toasting. They don't crumble before or after freezing. They make excellent croutons and is second to none for french toast.
Raisin Bread
This is a sweet bread that comes in a full size loaf or a bun. It is best described as a breakfast bread. It is lightly sweetened, and also comes with an abundance of raisins.
Rye Loaf
Of course this doesn't have any rye in it, but we messed about with other names, and decided that a rye doesn't taste like rye because of rye, it tastes like it does because of carraway seeds, so lets just call it what it tastes like, and it absolutely has the taste and texture of a German Rye bread, it has to be tried to be believed.
