Happy Halloween, 2009
Greetings!
So many of us here at the Little Aussie Love this time of year as we go into the Holiday Season. We are expecting to have a pretty silly time this year, and we hope that all of our customers have the opportunity to enjoy  at least a little silliness, although we have all found that really a lot is always better.  We have some great new products like our Rye Loaf  which some of you will have heard about in the middle of the month.  We will be doing some outrageous cookies and cakes for halloween.  Our very popular Brunch prize winners will be announced.  We have new look T-shirts and caps to match, and don't forget about out boomerangs.

What is New for Halloween?
Halloween is always a fun time of the year and this year is not going to be any sort of exception.  We are going to tart the place up a bit so if you are planning to have an office party or a bit of a do for your kids, let us know we would love to cater for you.

And of course we will be doing all sorts of goulish cup cakes and cookies, decorated in the Halloween theme.  So get your orders in early for your Halloween theme cup cakes and cookies. Last ordering day for Halloween themed items will be Tuesday 27th of October.

Rye
Lets Call it Rye "New Product"
Well there has been a lot of debate about this at the bakery, for those of you who have already tried it the quality is not at question, but for those purists we are just saying there is no Rye in it.  But it tastes so much like a European Rye it is enough to make your memory water. And in all reality, rye is not what gives rye its flavor, it's the carraway seeds, and this loaf has plenty of them.  Everyone who has sampled one of these loaves has bought one, so if you'd like to enjoy something a little different in gluten free, ask to sample some when you are next in.  Better still order it now, because you know you're gonna want one, and you know what your chances of getting one come four o'clock is and you haven't ordered it.  Order on line or give us a call.

Humble House Foods "Tasting"
We had a visit from our good friends Louis Morales and Marsha Millegan from Humble House Foods.  They manufacture cheeses locally, and they are truly delicious, we have invited them to join us to give you an opportunity to taste some of their wonderful cheeses, and I promise you not only do they taste great, they compliment our Rye bread wonderfully.  You guys are all in for a treat, mark this date down in your Calender, and come to the Aussie for lunch, and you will be able to buy their products at an excellent price.  Their cheeses and other products are of course gluten free.

Healthier without
Gluten Free Info Gem
An all too common misconception out there that  we are hearing from some of our customers is that Spelt bread is gluten free.  This is definitely not the case.  Wheat has been especially bred up over the years to increase the amount of gluten in it, and while spelt certainly has less gluten in it than other gluten containing grains. However if you are gluten intolerant it is still not something you are going to enjoy without unpleasant consequences. For more information go to resource page.

Carols by Candlelight
Carols by Candlelight
With Xmas being just around the corner we were thinking about what we could do for Xmas, and one thing we miss from home at around Xmas time, besides hot weather is "Carols by Candlelight", which is a tradition at home where everyone gets together and sings traditional Xmas Carols by the light of candles, everybody has one.  We thought it would be fun to do at the bakery, just before Xmas.  A totally community oriented event.

What would be nice, is a few volunteers, with some choral experience, some people with musical instruments who can play them and some community interest.  Anyone interested in any aspect highlighted above right down to just attending, let us know by email

Dairy Free Cake 1
Cake of the Month

Our cake of the month for October is miraculous in nature. It is a sponge cake like no other.  We have produced a sponge cake that is of course gluten free and tastes great, and here is the big miracle, it is also dairy free. It is covered in a delicious chocolate ganash, and it is cut into multiple layers inside and filled with a delicious vanilla egg custard that we make ourselves.  Again this is not a sponge that is not bad for dairy free.  It is just plain delicious, and if you have dairy issues you can be part of the delisiousness too.
Individual Slice:  $ 5.75

Whole Cake: Starts at  $ 50.00
All the very best from all of us here at the Little Aussie.

Our Breads

Golden Flax Bread
This is our regular house bread it's a savory bread, the same that we use for our delicious sandwiches.  It's light, it's fluffy it's nutty in taste and soft in texture.  It's flavor is derived
from the fresh golden flax seeds that we grind into it every day. It is low in sodium, and low in sugar. It comes in loaves, hamburger buns and pizza bases.

All of our breads, can be sliced, wafer thin for sandwiches,or chunky thick for toasting. They don't crumble before or after freezing.  They make excellent croutons and is second to none for french toast.

Raisin Bread
This is a sweet bread that comes in a full size loaf or a bun.  It is best described as a breakfast bread.  It is lightly sweetened, and also comes with an abundance of raisins.
