Greetings!

Welcome to Harvest Season. Also, welcome to all new friends who've visited the winery or tried our wines at the Uncorked Rockville festival. Come help us celebrate the harvest - at our Harvest Festival this Saturday, September 11 - see more details below. We'll be harvesting our Traminette grapes - a unique hybrid varietal and one of our signature wines. Check out this short intro from Morris & Rob.

Following closely on its heels is the Maryland Wine Festival - September 18 & 19. We're still in need of volunteers, particularly for the afternoon shifts. Volunteer to help us pour and you can get into the festival for free and have some fun on the other side of the table.

We're also pouring at the Festival at the Beach in Ocean City on October 1 and 2. This is a Friday & Saturday festival. If you're interested in helping out, send us a note volunteer@terrapinstationwinery.com.

Just a reminder - Our Tasting Room will be open Saturdays 12-6 and Sundays 1-6 through September and October. Stop by for a tasting - try a sample of each of our wines and take home a keepsake Terrapin Station Winery glass. (A $5 value - see coupon below for a free tasting OR free glass of wine when you visit).

CELEBRATE the HARVEST!
Fall Harvest Festival - Saturday, September 11

Join us in the vineyard this weekend to celebrate the harvest and bounty of nature. Help us harvest our grapes or sit back and relax with a glass of wine while others do the work. You'll have a front-row seat to watch the magic - as grapes are crushed and prepared to be turned into wine. Volunteers earn a free pizza lunch.

Harvest begins at 7:30 a.m.

Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Enjoy live music by 4Ever Erin, food, family activities, and great specials on all of our wines (by the box or by the glass). The Terrapin Institute folks will be on hand to share their live terrapins with us.

Several vendors will be offering food and products for sale, including Season's Pizza, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Thirty One and more!

The winery is located at the corner of Ricketts Mill Road and Route 213 (Address: 80 Ricketts Mill Road, Elkton, MD). See Google Map for driving directions or see our Location Page for more information.

If you can't make the harvest, remember the Tasting Room is open on weekends (Saturday 12-6, Sunday 1-6) through the middle end of October, so stop by before we're closed for Winter.
Countdown to Maryland Wine Festival!

The 27th annual Maryland Wine Festival is right around the corner
September 18-19, 2010
Sat 10-6 pm, Sun 12-6 pm
Carroll County Farm Museum
Westminster, Carroll County

The biggest of the Maryland wine festivals, this one includes over 30 Maryland wineries, several stages of live music, and many food and craft vendors. The great fall weather usually makes this one of the best festivals to attend or volunteer.

Tickets are on sale now and are $25 at the gate. Help in our tent for part of the day and you get into the Festival for free, get a tasting glass and have the rest of the day to enjoy the festival.

We are still in need of plenty of volunteers - as this is a huge festival. It's great fun on both sides of the tasting table.

Available shifts are:

Saturday Sept 18
10 am - 2 pm     6 openings
12 - 4 pm          10 openings
2 - 6 pm            12 openings

Sunday Sept 19
10 am - 2 pm    2 openings
11 am - 3 pm    8 openings
1 - 5 pm           12 openings
2 - 6 pm           12 openings
4 - 7 pm (incl 1 hr breakdown) - 6 openings

Thanks for staying in touch and being fans of our Winery. We have plans for some changes at the Winery - including transition to Wind Power this fall, an improved website this fall and winter, and launch of new wines next spring.

We hope you enjoy following our progress - we enjoy sharing it with you. On a technical note, our apologies for the extra link for the videos. We'd like to embed them rather than link to Facebook but our newsletter software doesn't always cooperate.
