Greetings!
I'm trying a new email program, so bear with me if I mess something up...
If you've been a fan of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon for any length of time, you have undoubtedly come across the name Heidi Peterson Barrett. Beginning in the early 1990s, Heidi's work at Dalle Valle and Screaming Eagle indelibly altered the landscape of California wine.
Her track record is undisputable, garnering several perfect 100-point scores from Robert Parker, ('92 & '93 Dalla Valle "Maya", and '97 Screaming Eagle), with a few 98 and 99 point wines sprinkled in for good measure. Heidi was one of the catalysts that propelled the "Cult Wine" movement that flourished in the 1990s.
Heidi has scaled back her winemaking projects quite a bit to focus more on her own labels and projects (La Sirena, Amuse Bousche), but still makes wines for a few wineries such as Barbour, Paradigm, Fontesca, and Lamborn Family. A project Heidi is very attached to and has been working on from its inception is Revana, located in the heart of Napa Valley, just north of St. Helena, and right across Hwy 29 from Grace Family Vineyards.
Revana Family Vineyards is owned by my good friend Dr. Madaiah Revana. He is a fantastic human being and we try to get together whenever possible. Since he is still practicing medicine in Houston, it is usually only a couple of times a year that hang out, drink wine and enjoy life. He also throws one heck of a Taco Party during the Premier Napa Valley Auction, but I digress.
At Revana, Heidi works very closely with long-time friend, associate, and uber vineyard manager, Jim Barbour, who planted the Revana Family Vineyard.
Jim owns one of the premier vineyard management companies in the Napa Valley and is responsible for planting and maintaining some of the top vineyards that produce .grapes for such wines as Hundred Acre, Parallel, Fontesca, Tom Seaver's Diamond Mtn. vineyard, the original Grace Family Vineyards, to name a few. |
