Meet our Board
| | |
Hello my name is Loretta Partain.
I have resided in Nampa
for 20 years. I am the owner of two businesses:
Partain Bookkeeping and Outdoors Etc of Idaho.
I have been an independent bookkeeper for 7 years and an outdoor
wildlife and scenic photographer for 3 years.
I have been the secretary of the AAFV Board of Directors for 8 months now. I am very excited about volunteering for
AAFV. I am able to give back to women
and their families with a broad range of expertise. I help organize fundraisers, donations, as well as volunteers to paint and furnish rooms at our shelter, collect food and items. I helped provide entertainment for our residents a couple of times a year. I work
closely with the Board of Directors on financial decisions and provide public relations to
introduce our presence and value in our community. I am looking forward to the next year as we
have so many exciting things planned and I am very happy to be a part of this
organization.

Each time a man stands up...
| "Each
time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or
strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope... and
crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those
ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression
and resistance." -Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968); politician, senator, civil rights activist |

Vision for the Future
| In memory of Angie Leon
Advocates Against Family Violence would like to thank everyone who came out to hear our vision for the future. We wanted to share our plans to build a new shelter and crisis nursery that would help victims of abuse. AAFV held this event in memory of Angie Leon, a victim of domestic violence.
We would like to send a special thank you to the following people for their help in making this event a success: Claudia Weathermon (Master of Ceremony) Mayor Garret Nancolas (Mayor of Caldwell) Mayor Tom Dale (Mayor of Nampa) and Silvia Flores (Angie Leon's mother)
Please check out this video for more highlights of the event.

Knocking Out Domestic Violence - A Complete Sell Out!
| This past Saturday's, Boxing Coach, Martin Castellanoz held an amateur fight to raise awareness about family violence. The event was a complete sell out.
All proceeds
went to benefit Advocates Against Family Violence for Angie's House, a new domestic violence shelter being constructed in Caldwell. The
new shelter is named after Coach Castellanoz's niece,
Angie Leon, who was murdered in 2003 by her estranged husband.
We would like to thank Mr. Castellanoz for his support in raising funds and awareness about violence in our community.
Pictures of the event will be posted on the website shortly.
