Certificate Programs Beginning September 2010
Application Deadline is April 17

Our certificate programs are designed to enrich and strengthen each student's development as a clinician and psychoanalytic psychotherapist and/or psychoanalyst.

We believe this is best achieved when clinicians have a solid foundation in psychoanalytic theory and technique, receive close clinical supervision, and can develop the high degree of self awareness and self reflection needed to deepen their sensitivity to the client-therapist relationship.

To facilitate each student's professional and personal growth, the certificate programs offer students a comprehensive training experience, which includes:
*  Coursework in theory and technique
*  Supervised clinical work
*  Personal treatment
Courses are offered in the evening, and the program can be completed on a flexible, individualized schedule, which allows students to participate on a part-time basis and at the pacing that best suits their needs.

Our program is structured so students in the psychotherapy and psychoanalysis tracks take many of their courses together. This provides a rich learning experience in which students can develop an understanding of core psychoanalytic principles and their application to a wide range of patients across the treatment continuum. Students also receive specialized training in the certificate program they have selected.

The psychoanalytic psychotherapy certificate includes approximately 200 hours of coursework, supervision of two cases that are being seen twice a week, and personal treatment of psychodynamic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis.

The psychoanalysis certificate prepares the student to become a psychoanalyst. It includes approximately 500 hours of coursework, supervision of three analytic cases, and personal analysis with a training analyst.
