Team NCPF is gearing up for the Walk For Hope taking place this weekend.  Our team is busy raising money to support mental health efforts through the Foundation of Hope. At the walk we will have two opportunities for the general public to attend our October 24th conference for FREE! We are sponsoring a raffle prize for 2 free general public tickets and a free copy of Why School Anti-Bullying Programs Don't Work and then a table drawing for 2 free general public tickets (including lunch).

The North Carolina Psychoanalytic Society kicks off its new 2009-2010 MindPlay season at PlayMakers Repertory Theater (Chapel Hill, NC) with Michael Hollinger's OPUS: "Sex, drugs and chamber music!" Heather Craige, MSW will lead the discussion following both the October 10th show at 8pm and the October 11th show at 2pm.
Opus - MindPlayAbout Opus: Talent and temperament collide in a behind-the-scenes look at the world's finest 'fictional' string quartet. The famous ensemble threatens to unravel when its most talented member goes missing and a young woman is hired to take his place. Includes collaboration with UNC's Department of Music.

Description: The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker and an Art Display and Reception in the Connie Moses Ballroom
Details: Brushes With Life: Art, Artists and Mental Illness is an award-winning patient art gallery located at the NC Neurosciences Hospital in the halls approaching the psychotic disorders inpatient unit. The unit is part of the UNC Schizophrenia Treatment and Evaluation Program, which provides inpatient and outpatient care for patients dealing with psychotic symptoms or illnesses such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
We are excited to share the many programs being offered throughout the mental health community as we head into fall and we hope you will join us at our upcoming program on October 24, 2009.
