Greetings!
Greetings! Pacific Northwest Alumni of Foster Care (PNAFC) is committed to increasing an awareness of issues important to those in and from foster careto improve the health outcomes of children and young adults. As a nurse, an alumna of foster care, and a doctoral student in the nursing science PhD program at the University of Washington, I am pleased to announce that I am conducting the Foster Care Adversity Research Study. I am also grateful to share that I have recently received the 2011 University of Washington -Tacoma Distinguished Alumni Award based on my scholarly research and advocacy for children in foster care. It is my hope that both these events will positively influence policy and practice at a community, state, and national level, and more importantly, that it will help improve the experiences and health of children in foster care. - Delilah Bruskas
