As a nurse, advocate, and alumna of foster care, Delilah Bruskas and PNAFC, is committed to increasing the awareness of foster care issues through a recent publication titled Developmental Health of Infants and Children Subsequent to Foster Care with the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing. This article not only explains that what happens in childhood matters, but also points out that not addressing childhood adversities, such as those experienced by many children in foster care, can impact adult health.

Her presentation to the Bachelors of Science in Nursing students will focus on how she is using her experiences in foster care and her nursing background towards the development of policy and practice that improve individual and community health outcomes.
