Greetings!
Greetings!
We want to report that we
are hopeful for more opportunities to advocate for those in and from foster

as one of three Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Nursing
Fellows at the University of Washington School of Nursing! This funding will allow me to continue
forward in our attempt to positively influence policy and practice for those in

Developmental
health of infants and children subsequent to foster care article in the Journal of Child and
Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing 2010 Edition (pending)
As a nurse, advocate, and
alumna of foster care, Delilah Bruskas and PNAFC, is committed to increasing
the awareness of foster care issues through an accepted manuscript titled Developmental health of infants and children
subsequent to foster care article in the Journal
of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing.
This article not only explains that what happens in childhood
matters, but also points out that not addressing childhood adversities, such as
those experienced by many in foster care, can impact adult health for many
years. This article is scheduled for
publication later this year.
