Greetings!
We are pleased to announce that Pacific Northwest Alumni of Foster Care (PNAFC) continues to advocate for those in and from foster care at a community, state, and international level. Our advocacy work aims to increase the awareness of issues important to those in and from foster care. I am also excited to share that I have successfully completed my first year of the University of Washington's Nursing Science PhD Program and look forward to further developing my area of interest (health outcomes of those in and from foster care) and partnering with others also interested in improving health outcomes.

Updates
The National Center for Adoption Law & Policy (NCALP) - Columbus Ohio
June 4th and 5th, 2009

The NCALP at Capital University Law School presentation and workshop titled Integrating Foster Youth in Decision-Making was a great opportunity for Delilah Bruskas to advocate for those in and from foster care. She was especially honored to meet other alumni of foster care and grateful for the opportunity to advocate together with them. It was great hearing Dr. Felitti's presentation that included the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study and especially interesting having discussions with him about early experiences of neglect and foster care in relation to long-term health outcomes.

"Exploring the Culture of Foster Care" is a NATIONAL COMMUNITY ART PROJECT created by Foster Care Alumni of America (FCAA). To view other post cards created by those in and from foster care please visit:
