| Author Reading and Book Signing |
The Center is hosting Dr. Glen Retief to read from his upcoming memoir The Jack Bank. The reading will be followed by a brief question and answer time with the author as well as a book signing. Join us at the Midtown Scholar in Harrisburg on Saturday, April 30, at 7pm.
Dr. Glen Retief is an Assistant Professor of Creative Nonfiction at Susquehanna University. He teaches courses in memoir, personal essay, creative nonfiction, and fiction. His memoir, The Jack Bank, is about growing up white and gay in apartheid South Africa, and is forthcoming from St. Martin's Press.
National Book Award-winning author Bob Shacochis calls Retief's novel "one of those books that you never forget and never stop talking about." Don't miss this event!
A suggested $5 donation will benefit the Center's youth programming, Common Roads. |
