This Sunday, August 8th, join Common Roads at the Midtown Scholar, 1302 N Third Street, Harrisburg for the Back to School Benefit. From 4-7pm, local young musicians will entertain the crowd with a variety of musical styles, you'll have the chance to win various raffle items, and you'll get to enjoy the beautiful space that the Midtown Scholar offers with a cup of coffee in hand.
The $5 admission fee at the door, and all tips and raffle proceeds will go to benefit Common Roads as we approach another school year. Common Roads provides education, programming, and advocacy to LGBTQ youth and allies in central Pennsylvania.

Benefit Screening of Stonewall Uprising
|
Screening to coincide with NOM visit
Join Equality Pennsylvania and the LGBT Community Center Coalition of
Central Pennsylvania on the eve of the NOM visit in a special benefit showing
of the hit movie Stonewall Uprising.
Thursday, August 12th, 7pm, $7 at the
door Midtown Cinema, 250 Reily Street, Harrisburg.
Together we'll learn about the event that
sparked the modern day LGBT Rights Movement and afterwards we'll share in a
special talk back session concerning youth activism, how people of any age can
get involved and what young members of our community are doing to advance LGBT
equality. Proceeds from the film will be divided between Equality
Pennsylvania and the Common Roads youth program of the Center.

Pride Picnic 2010 at Knoebel's
| The 16th Annual Pride Picnic at
Knoebels Grove will be held August 14th, 2010. Knoebels Grove
Amusement Resort is located in Elysburg, PA. Our picnic is held in Pavilion T10.
This gathering of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual and allies
celebrates with great foods, friendship and community.
Started as a small group
of friends 16 years ago, the picnic has grown to several hundred picnic
enthusiast. Closer to being a family reunion, many bring friends and relatives
as well a first timers to this great day of roller coasters and water rides.
Everyone should bring a covered dish to share. The picnic provides utensils, tableware and napkins. Registration starts at 11:00am, and the meal is served at 3:00pm.
