Reception, Discussion, and Book-Signing
|

As a reminder, the
Center will host a
reception,
discussion and book-signing of Wendy Moffat's acclaimed biography of
British
novelist E.M. Forster, A Great Unrecorded History, on Wednesday, July
28, 6 p.m. at the Midtown Scholar at 1302 N. Third Street.
We are please to announce that the biography will be featured in a front-page review in the July 25 edition
of The
New York Times Book Review. Written
by award-winning novelist and critic Colm Toibin, the review hails
Moffat's
work as a "well-written, intelligent and perceptive biography of
Forster."
Moffat,
professor of English at Dickinson College, began her research in 1997
about the
author of Howard's End and A Passage to India after coming upon a
treasure trove of unpublished material at Cambridge University. In her
biography, she turns a keen and lively eye on Forster's sexual
orientation-and its influence on his personal and professional lives. Our event on July 28 will be an excellent opportunity to meet the author of this internationally-acclaimed biography. A $5 donation is recommended for the
reception. Proceeds will benefit Common Roads. For more
information,
