Milk Day March

On Saturday, May 22nd in State College, activists, organizers, and community members will come together to remember and celebrate the actions, words, and spirit of Pioneer/Visionary Harvey Milk who ignited the flame of the fight for LGBTQ equality. Over the course of the march the group will be making stops at different locations of significance and giving voice to stories about discrimination there. After the march, screenings of the movie Milk and documentary Still Black (which chronicles the lives and experiences of black trans men in America) will be held.

The organizers are asking for personal accounts of discrimination perpetrated by local institutions upon individuals on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. To share, please submit your stories by email to Shani at srobin2@pride.hofstra.edu, to Caryn at caryn@psu.edu, or to Audrey at justiceleagueactivate@gmail.com, who thank you in advance for your courage and solidarity in the continued fight for LGBTQ equality.

This event is being organized by the State College, PA Justice League-Activate! Organization. Click here to view the event's facebook page.
