HOLIDAY SEASON 2011
Brandon's Memory Tree was lit this past Sunday and gives us all a moment to remember as we walk and drive by on a regular basis. The annual lighting of the tree ushers in the holiday season. Our planted Blue Spruce is growing every year and filling out! It is a beautiful reminder year-round of our loved ones. The Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce thanks everyone who contributed to the Memory Tree, which helps keep our town lit during our shortest days. Names will be printed in an upcoming Reporter newspaper. Thanks to Russ McColman for beautifully lighting the tree and to Charlene Bryant for her tallying of the Memory Tree names. Thanks to the OVUHS Chorale under the direction of Pat Roberts, the Brandon Festival Singers, and Father Skip of St. Mary's Church for being a part of the Memory Tree Lighting. Happy Holidays from the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce

The Gallery at Brandon Music is honored to welcome back the very talented Vermont artist, Ruth Hamilton, whose previous exhibition here was extremely well received. Her new show is simply a delight. It is titled, "A Walk Through the Woods and other favored spaces" and dates are from 12/9/11 to 2/29/12.

The artist regularly travels to England and is inspired to translate the heart of that land as she experiences it. The works in this show include several scenes from Northern England and Cornwall

in the deep South West, as well as Vermont scenes and figurative work. Ruth's paintings explore the relationship of the person to the land, earth, other people and, occasionally, animals. Her work exemplifies the wonderment of nature and an intimate view of life. Beautiful and unusual use of color is a major strength of her work.

Ruth has lived in Vermont, Upstate New York and New York City. Her work is in private collections in the US, Europe, as well as the collection of the St. Louis Art Museum. She maintains her home and studio in Poultney, Vt.

Brandon Music - Vermont's Classical Music Haven - is at 62 Country Club Road, opposite Neshobe Golf Club on Rte 73E. It is the North American headquarters of the international Divine Art Recordings Group. Located in Warren Kimble's former historic red barn gallery, Brandon Music hosts the Divine Art CD Store, Harmony English Tea Room & Music Café, The Gallery featuring an exhibition of work by Warren Kimble, and a gift shop selling vintage English china and other collectibles.
