DONATE ~ BID ~ BUY

One of Brandon's liveliest events is scheduled for Tuesday, July 19, at 4:00 pm. The Great Brandon Auction has been raising funds for development projects in the Town of Brandon since 1989. The sponsor of the event, the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce has been able to turn over well over $150,000 to many town projects over the years.

We invite you to be a part of the 23rd Annual Auction. Donate your quality used goods. Come down to the Auction to bid and buy. Or perhaps you'd like to volunteer your time to help out. We need community support in all shapes and forms.  For donations, we accept barn treasures and attic finds as well as other items in good sale-able condition. The auction is scheduled to begin at 4 pm in Brandon's Central Park with the preview at 2 pm. "Left" bids will be accepted if you cannot stay. Auctioneer Barb Watters, who has presided over every single Great Brandon Auction, does an outstanding job of entertaining the crowd. Lots of surprises and fun. To make a donation, please contact the Chamber at 247-6401 or by email at: info@brandon.org. Sponsored by the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Avant Garde Dogs Band in Central Park

Back by popular demand. You saw them first during Art in the Snow! The Avant  Garde  Dogs  Band  is an eclectic collection of musicians: two members of the Sleeping Dogs of old (Jim Murphy and Tad Merrick), The Keating Five (Jim Keating), and other members who are relatively new to the local music scene (Liam Murphy and Doug Wilhelm). The band's songs range from John Hiatt, The Subdudes, Bruce Cockburn, Greg Brown, Ry Cooder. Los Lobos, The Rolling Stones, The Band, and even a little R&B, all twisted around whatever light pole can be found by the band members. Dancing is the goal, but if people want to just squat, listening is certainly an option. Concert sponsored by Ms. Bette Moffett. Rain location to be announced if necesssary.

150th Birthday Commemorative Pins

These pins are available for $5.00 each from any member of the Friends of the Brandon Town Hall Board or by e-mailing us at info@brandontownhall.org

Bathroom Renovation Project

More than $85,000 has been raised towards our goal of $120,000.  We remain hopeful that we will reach our goal this summer.

Two anonymous donors have stepped forward with generous gifts.  The first has pledged up to $15,000 by adding $100 to each $150 pledge received in the "150 Dollars for 150 Years" campaign.  This family wanted to acknowledge both the
150th birthday of the Town Hall and the 250th birthday of the Town of Brandon.  To date we have received 80 pledges.  Please help us exceed our goal of 150 plates that will be mounted on our 150th Anniversary plaque that is on display in the Town Hall, and realize the full value of this family's pledge.

Our second donor has already
donated $15,000 to the Friends of the Brandon Town Hall ("FOTH") towards building renovations/upgrades that will benefit the use of the stage for theater.  Their money will pay for the installation of a set of stairs that will go from the rear of Stage Left down to the basement.     We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated to the FOTH to make YOUR community center improvements.

If  you would like to participate in helping the bathroom project become reality please send your tax deductable donation to FOTH, P.O. Box 181, Brandon, VT  05733.  Applications for the 150 Year plate donation can be downloaded at www.brandontownhall.org and click on the word "here" (last word of the first paragraph).

You may e-mail us at info@brandontownhall.org with any questions, or call Mei Mei Brown, president, at 802.247.3971.
