MOM MADE MUNCHIES IN FUN NEW WAYS |
|
By Amie Valpone, HHP, AADP Culinary Nutritionist
I love working with parents and their kids on healthy eating initiatives and fun ways to get creative with food to keep those taste buds yearning for more.
Reach for a Mom Made Bean Burrito Munchie and slice it into quarters, place it atop a bed of steamed spinach with yellow bell peppers, grape tomatoes, fresh cilantro, salsa and Greek plain yogurt. Your kids will love the natural sweetness from these veggies. I like to use Greek plain yogurt instead of sour cream for an extra protein boost as well as a spoonful of chunky salsa for dipping.
Looking for a quick breakfast to serve before the kids run out the door to school? How about creating a scrambled egg with mashed avocado and serve with a sliced Mom Made Turkey Sausage Munchie along with a dollop of salsa. This makes an easy go-to nibble to start their day off on the right track with lean protein and heart healthy avocado.
Just a few simple steps and you can easily turn your favorite Mom Made Munchies into a full meal for your loved ones.
