Wednesday, April 13th, dawned bright and sunny and a perfect day for the Day of Caring - Spring 2011!
Being National Volunteer Week, we began the day with our Annual Volunteer recognition breakfast, held at the Courtyard Marriott in Hamilton. Many Butler County United Way volunteers were recognized, including our special awards recipients:

Following breakfast, over 100 Day of Caring - Spring 2011 volunteers headed out to 13 different worksites doing anything from yard work and landscaping to painting, cleaning and reorganizing. No task was too big, as even a broken bannister was replaced in an elderly person's home. Volunteer teams came from a wide range of companies and agencies. Teams represented: AurGroup Barnes Aerospace Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities Butler Tech Clark-Theders Insurance First Financial Hamilton Community Foundation Intermec Starbuck's University of Phoenix US Bank The work sites included agencies and private homes of Butler County residents, and the work completed will help the agencies and those they serve.
