NYIT Supports Student Success
- Four interior design students -- Amanda D'Orazio, Adam Loporto, Jennie Sandahl, and Adalgisa Zeppetelli -- each received $3,750 from the newly established Brendalyn Stempel Scholarship Fund, which recognizes outstanding achievement in academics, design, and presentation skills.
- Salvatore Coco (B.Arch. '87) has re-established the Salvatore Coco Memorial Design Fellowship Award in memory of his father and awarded $500 to third-year architecture student Melissa Makowski in recognition of her outstanding achievements in design.
- Peter Pitzer, a fourth-year architecture student, and Laura Zanghi, a third-year interior design student, each received $1,500 as winners of the inaugural Friends of NYIT's School of Architecture and Design's Annual Scholarship award, which recognizes well-rounded, hard-working students who perform well in their chosen area of study.
- Peter Pitzer, president of NYIT's American Institute of Architects (AIA) student chapter, and Shannon Pearce, treasurer, each received a $1,000 grant from the Friends of NYIT's School of Architecture and Design to attend the AIA's 2010 National Convention in Miami on June 10 - 12.
