ALUMNI WINE TASTING IN MANHATTAN

Join fellow alumni in New York City for a wine tasting event this Thursday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bacchus Wine Shop, 2056 Broadway (between 70th and 71st Streets) in New York City. The evening includes a tasting of eight wines from a Riedel crystal wine glass that is yours to take home. Tickets are $20 per person (maximum of two tickets per alumni). TV EXEC/ALUMNUS TO SPEAK AT NYIT
J. Geoghan Lecture"Surviving the Television Wars"

The College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Communication Arts will launch its Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series with a presentation by Emmy-nominated writer and producer Jim Geoghan (B.F.A. '69). The event takes place on Monday, Feb. 22, 6 - 7:30 p.m., at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway. From his experiences as executive producer of the Disney Channel's The Suite Life on Deck and many other popular series, Geoghan will share his unique insider's view of the television industry. NYIT TO HOST GREEN FORUM IN NANJING
Includes Energy, Education, Environmental Initiatives
NYIT and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NUPT) will host a two-day forum in Nanjing, China, April 7 - 9, 2010 that will bring together experts from the world's leading companies as well as government officials and leaders in higher education to explore sustainability challenges and solutions, technological and policy breakthroughs, and educational programs positioned to drive changes in energy practices that will benefit the world at large. Learn more.
EXCELLENCE BY DESIGN 
Arch.MagArchitect magazine has ranked NYIT's School of Architecture and Design among the top four U.S. schools that excel in building technology and construction. Its Architecture Schools Guide 2009 (December 2009 issue) noted that NYIT is "a school that's dedicated to producing career-ready graduates." NYIT's participation in the 2005 and 2007 international Solar Decathlon competitions was highlighted: "Technology is taught at NYIT as the path to both a sustainable built environment and an efficient practice."
ALUMNI EVENTS EARN GOLD, SILVER
CASE AwardsNYIT Captures Gold and Silver CASE Awards
NYIT has been honored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) with two awards for excellence in planning and executing its April 12, 2009 alumni reception in China: the CASE District II Gold Award for "Best Practices in Alumni Relations" and the Silver Award in the "Special Events" category. President Guiliano, Director of Alumni Relations Joe Fortine, and Professor Scott Liu were among those who joined members of the NYIT Guangdong alumni chapter last April in Shenzhen, China. The reception, which included speeches, video presentations, alumni awards, performances by the East Lily Troup, and a traditional Sichuan opera, was held in conjunction with other celebrations commemorating NYIT's 10-year legacy in China.
