Day on wall Street 2009Students Get an Inside Look at Wall Street
NYIT students found them-
selves in the hub of some of the world's largest and most influential financial organizations when they participated in the second annual "Day on Wall Street" on Nov. 5. Organized by the Office of Alumni Relations and the School of Management's Student Advancement Programs, the event featured a visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York -- including a tour of its gold vault, hosted by Rosanne Stichnoth (M.B.A. '82), the bank's senior vice president of operations. The students also toured the Museum of American Finance and had lunch with several NYIT alumni who are enjoying successful careers in finance. Pictured: The group in front of historic Federal Hall.

ALUMNI TUESDAY EVENTS DEBUT
Three prominent NYIT alumni, along with a special guest invited by one alumni, took time out of their hectic schedules to deliver personalized presentations that addressed the value of an NYIT degree to students at the Manhattan campus. The program, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations, was made possible through cooperation with the Great American Mentoring Club of NYIT and the Student Government Association. The fall semester lineup featured Chris Amenita (B.S. '81), senior vice president of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Enterprises Group; Glenn Calafati (B.S. '98), director of new product development at Optimum Lightpath, Carlos Dominguez, senior vice president in Cisco's Office of the Chairman of the Board and CEO--brought to NYIT through the efforts of Steve Ermmarino (B.S. '91),  a Cisco account manager for new channel services--and Robert Gluck (B.S. '70), vice chairman and chief operation officer of SmartęBalance Inc.

Congratulations and thanks to Chris, Glenn, Steve, Carlos, and Robert for their commitment to NYIT and dedication to helping students navigate through tough times.
