| The Lumeta Corporation has donated its new flagship product, IPsonar, to NYIT. Company representatives conducted an all-day training session on this sophisticated Internet mapping tool, used for security purposes, on Nov. 12 for faculty and staff members in the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences' Department of Computer Science. The donation was facilitated by NYIT's Office of Development and David Hickey (B.S. '85), Lumeta's president and chief executive officer. Read press release. |

Lecture Brings Alumni Back to NYIT
On Oct. 29, 120 alumni, friends, and students attended "The Future of the Architectural Profession," a lecture presented by George Miller, FAIA, managing partner of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. Held at NYIT's de Seversky Center, Old Westbury campus, the event was sponsored by the Friends of NYIT's School of Architecture and Design and Dean Judith DiMaio. Students Get an Inside Look at Wall Street
NYIT students found them- selves in the hub of some of the world's largest and most influential financial organizations when they participated in the second annual "Day on Wall Street" on Nov. 5. Organized by the Office of Alumni Relations and the School of Management's Student Advancement Programs, the event featured a visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York -- including a tour of its gold vault, hosted by Rosanne Stichnoth (M.B.A. '82), the bank's senior vice president of operations. The students also toured the Museum of American Finance and had lunch with several NYIT alumni who are enjoying successful careers in finance. Pictured: The group in front of historic Federal Hall. |

On Nov. 19, 50 alumni and friends gathered at NYIT's de Seversky Center for a reception to meet Nada Anid, Ph.D., New Dean of Engineering and Computing Sciences. Dr. Anid shared her vision, goals, and thoughts with the group and higlighted accomplishments of NYIT's alumni and current students. |

Three prominent NYIT alumni, along with a special guest invited by one alumni, took time out of their hectic schedules to deliver personalized presentations that addressed the value of an NYIT degree to students at the Manhattan campus. The program, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations, was made possible through cooperation with the Great American Mentoring Club of NYIT and the Student Government Association. The fall semester lineup featured Chris Amenita (B.S. '81), senior vice president of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Enterprises Group; Glenn Calafati (B.S. '98), director of new product development at Optimum Lightpath, Carlos Dominguez, senior vice president in Cisco's Office of the Chairman of the Board and CEO--brought to NYIT through the efforts of Steve Ermmarino (B.S. '91), a Cisco account manager for new channel services--and Robert Gluck (B.S. '70), vice chairman and chief operation officer of Smart©Balance Inc.

| THE CAMPUS SLATE GOES ONLINE |

NYIT students, faculty, and staff gathered on Dec. 1 to celebrate the launch of TheCampusSlate.com, the online version of the Old Westbury campus' student-run paper. President Guiliano noted the launch comes just at the right time, as more and more people are getting their news online, and stressed the importance of keeping the site fresh. The festivities included music from WNYT radio station and lunch. | |
