Greetings!
The beauty of fall in southwest Virginia is breathtaking! As beautiful as it is, the weather can change in a minute. Our last Business After Hours was a Tailgate at Ewing Cabinets, sponsored by Ewing, G & H Appliance, Ferguson Enterpirse, State Electric, Hethwood Market and Duncan Automotive - who could have known that it would be windy, cold and spitting rain but that did not dampen the spirits of the over 200 folks who turned out! Glenn Cochran did such a fun job with all the door prizes and the grand prize of the VT Gas Grill! You all never cease to amaze me with your enthusiasm and participation! Photos are on our Facebook page.
We have our Ribbon Cuttings listed in this newsletter, on our Facebook page and on the website. Join us in welcoming new businesses to our community. Small business is the key to growth of our economy and we applaud those who take those risks.
Mark your calendar for Friday, December 9th for our Annual Dinner & Awards. We are incredibly delighted that this year we received over 40 nominations for Awards this year. You will begin to hear their names on MIX 100.7 and we congratulate each and every one of them for an outstanding year and their contributions to our community. Tickets are on sale now so please call the Chamber office or go online to montgomerycc.org.

Invest for Success
To enhance the value of your membership, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is offering its members the opportunity to customize their approach to marketing their businesses in conjunction with the Chamber's Premier Events for 2012!
This is the time of year when many businesses are working on their budgets for the upcoming year. Please keep in mind that advertising dollars invested with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce keep your business in front of a local audience of professionals. You can strategically pick and place where you would like your business to be recognized throughout the year. Even if you cannot be there-your business will be there! Keeping your business name in front of prospective customers is the key to success!
You can select a single event or multiple events! While events are individually priced and can be selected for as low as $50, sponsorships begin at $1500. When a business packages its sponsorships, the Chamber is able to give an even greater return on the investment. As an "Invest for Success" partner you will receive additional advertising or sponsorships as a bonus based upon your investment level.
With a sponsorship you will be bundling the individual events with marketing choices ranging from an advertisement in the 2012 Quality of Life Magazine, a booth at the Business Expo, sponsoring an "Eggs and Issues" Breakfast, a golf hole at the annual tournament, to simply an electronic ad in the bi-weekly newsletter. The choice is yours! And there are plenty of choices! We can establish a marketing strategy for you and an easy payment plan for your business, too.
All "Invest for Success" Partners are prominently featured on an Exclusive Banner displayed year round at the Montgomery County Chamber Office and
at every Chamber Event.
As you prepare your business' advertising budget for 2012, consider this great marketing opportunity with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
Give me a call and we can find a way to keep your business in front of our membership!

Featured Member - VTV Family Outreach Foundation |
The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome The VTV Family Outreach Foundation as the Featured Member!
The VTV Family Outreach Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. On April 16, 2007, we lost 32 beautiful souls. Families and survivors of the victims bonded together to create the VTV Family Outreach Foundation. The VTV Family Outreach Foundation will create a living legacy to honor those who died, support the survivors and create a more compassionate and caring world.
Its mission is simple: keep our campuses safe. Determined to prevent a similar tragedy, the Foundation advocates for campus safety and security by focusing on issues of mental health, bullying, privacy laws and information sharing, and supporting programs to create positive change in behavior.
To begin its journey, VTV has created an "In Remembrance, April 16, 2007" license plate. Four hundred and fifty pre-paid applications for the license plate are required before the Virginia General Assembly will approve the plate. Please help VTV reach its goal. For further information regarding the VTV license plate and other VTV initiatives and upcoming events, please visit their website, www.vtvfamilyfoundation.org or feel free to call Marjorie Castro, Director of Development, at 571-439-0056. You can also click on the link embedded in the flyer in this edition of the Chamber's newsletter.

Click the flyer to be taken to the VTV Foundation website.

Earlier this year, the Virginia Chamber's Board of Directors adopted a new strategic plan which included several new goals in the areas of growing membership through "partnering with local chambers."
The Virginia Chamber announced a new partnership with local chambers through the Virginia Chamber Small Business Alliance. This initiative allows qualified small businesses in Virginia to have a dual membership in both their local chamber and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
