Hello Chamber Members! If someone would have asked me to describe my ideal job, I certainly would have included a description with the words, networking, promotion, improvement, and personal growth. I have always embraced a sales position in my choice of a career. And while my job titles may have varied throughout the twenty years I've lived in Montgomery County, the core of what I do and what I believe in has always remained steadfast.

I see the value in "sales." It is always an invitation to a new product, an event, a membership, or a connection that becomes a "must have" in our daily lives. And nothing happens until someone sells something! So it is also the heartbeat of the economy and a vibrant community.

I am walking in new shoes this week debuting as the Membership Director for the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC). And I must admit it is my ideal job. I had expressed interest in working with the Chamber several times over the last ten years, so I feel so fortunate to be with the Chamber today.

The mission of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is to: Promote and develop a positive environment for the operation and growth of business in Montgomery County and the New River Valley. This Chamber-your Chamber-embraces networking, promoting your business, improving the economic climate and quality of life in our community, and enhancing your personal growth through interaction and leadership development. I am excited to be a part of the process that will connect all of these pieces for you and your businesses.

My immediate goal as the Membership Director is to connect with each of you. I wouldNancy Creed like to know about you, your business, and your business goals. I'd like to hear what successes you have had working through the Chamber and what you would like to see in the future. In return I'd like to refresh for you what MCCC has to offer to help you reach your goals. Please accept an appointment with me when I call upon you! It will be my pleasure to meet with you!

Over the next few weeks please check out my letter to you in the MCCC newsletter as I will highlight the benefits of membership and the tools the Chamber offers to you to capture those benefits. In the meantime, collect your thoughts; plan to participate in our upcoming events including Eggs and Issues on October 6th, Business After Hours on October 20th and the Annual Dinner on December 9th.

I'm looking forward to connecting with you!

Nancy
