Greetings! April has been a great month due to the most amazing group of Members, Ambassadors, Directors, and Staff!

Many, many thanks to StellarOne for a great Business After Hours last Thursday.  Congratulations to our Ribbon Cuttings this month - Avalon Dive Shop and Bike Barn both in Blacksburg. We invite you to stop by these two businesses and welcome them to our community.  May is starting strong as well with three Ribbon Cuttings & Grand Openings already set! The Business Appreciation Golf Tournament is being held May 16^th at Blacksburg Country Club and we were very pleased to partner with Montgomery County Economic Development, Blacksburg Partnership, and Blacksburg Country Club again this year. Gifts, prizes, and the evening's Reception will be fun.     

Mark your calendar for July 21^st, Inn at Virginia Tech.  The Business Expo will be larger this year and booths are available now for reservation. 

Dr. Steger, President of Virginia Tech will be our May 5^th Eggs & Issues speaker.  He will be speaking on "Education as Economic Development" and his support of the Grow By Degrees Initiative, an initiative by the Virginia Higher Education Council supporting higher education. Join us in learning more about this initiative from Dr. Steger.

The Forest Hills at Belview community consists of 70, one to four-bedroom townhome units targeted to households earning 50 percent of Area Median Income (AMI) or less.

Of the 70 units, 14 will have one bedroom, 26 will have two bed-rooms, 20 will have three bedrooms, and ten will have four bedrooms. This $13.2 million development will be a 100% Low Income Housing Tax Credit community approved by Virginia Housing and Development Authority and has been allocated $10.4 million in tax credits.

The development 18 acre site is located in Montgomery County just outside of the Christiansburg city limits on the north side of Peppers Ferry Road, east of Prices Fork Road. The site is within easy access to Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Radford, and Pulaski, which will give the development's residents a variety of options for shopping, recreation, and employment.
