We held our first Quarter New Member Orientation this week and we were delighted with the attendance and participation.  Huge Kudos to our Ambassadors! 

Mayor Rordam, our April Eggs & Issues speaker, gave a very informative update on budget issues, roads, Alexander Black House, and Broadband 2015. Many thanks to Robert Parks and Brad DeNardo for sponsoring this event.  NBB has been very supportive of this Chamber. Mayor Ballengee will be our speaker in July and we are looking forward to his presentation on Vision 2020. Our Legislators will be back in June to give us a post-session Legislative Update. Member feedback on this event has been enthusiastic and very positive. Reservations are highly recommended, as these events are quick sellouts! Business Appreciation Golf Tournament, May 16^th, Blacksburg Country Club --- we are very pleased to partner with Montgomery County Economic Development, Blacksburg Partnership, and Blacksburg Country Club to have a golf tournament in recognition of our local businesses on Monday, May 16^th.  Our May Business After Hours will be the reception held that evening at Blacksburg Country Club. Sponsorships and a couple of teams are open, call Diana.

2011 Leadership New River Valley --- this class is awesome! Many, many thanks to Joyce Beliveau for hosting our Opening Day at Maison Beliveau.  The setting, food, and weather were absolutely perfect! I can also personally recommend the Lavender Festival held at Maison Beliveau in June.    

Business Expo - July 21^st, Inn at Virginia Tech.  Booths are $125 and are available now. This opportunity is a fantastic B2B networking opportunity as well as B2C.  This year we will be able to house 85 booths and the Inn will host our July Business After Hours as well. We will have two business workshops too - look for more details. 

My sincere thanks to Jeff Price, Bob Pack, and Aaron Harris for a wonderful Business After Hours last month at Kent Square. We all had the opportunity to see the beautiful condominiums at Kent Square, and if you have not seen them, contact Jeff, Bob, or Aaron.
