 I would like to share with you the The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce's recommendations for redistricting for the benefit of Montgomery County.

Sara Bohn & I attended the Independent Bipartisan Advisory Commission on Redistricting, on Monday March  14th, in Roanoke.  We were very impressed with the Commission's mission and members, and we realized the businesses and the voters in Montgomery County want to be appropriately represented during this redistricting cycle.

House Committee Criteria on Privileges and Elections 

The Chamber of Commerce  Board of Directors met Tuesday, where a Redistricting plan was approved and recommended.   An email was sent to our two Virginia  Senators and Delegates on their respective Subcommittees for Redistricting.

We discussed our proposal with Senators Smith and Edwards, and Delegate Nutter last week.  Delegate Shular was out of town and unable to meet due to the short notice.  These three representatives were very supportive in our efforts, and appreciated the inclusion in the discussion.  

 This opportunity also allowed us to have an opportunity to continue to open dialog with these elected officials so that our ongoing relationships continue to flourish.

As our Chamber  efforts are winding down, we hope our efforts  will make a difference for our beloved Montgomery County.
