Chamber Focus
Leadership New River Valley starts March 17th and I can tell you that Dr. Scott is creating an outstanding curriculum for this 2011 Class! In our next newsletter, we will release the names of all the 2011 participants. This year we also were given two (2) scholarships for those who wanted to attend ---- our first scholarship was in recognition and honor of two of our board members --- Terri Mitchell and Sara Bohn. Mark Caldwell and Dr. Sharon Scott initiated this scholarship for an employee of a local non-profit who would otherwise not be able to attend. Thank you for investing in the lives of others! We are truly grateful for everyone who has signed up as a sponsor, participant, or speaker. I graduated from the Chamber Leadership program in Baton Rouge, LA and will never forget the lessons I learned and the importance of giving back to your community.
Membership is growing again! If you know someone who would benefit from being a member, please give Lanny Belcher a call. We continue to improve our member value with member-to-member discounts as well as additional offerings. We hope you will take advantage of all the opportunities presented.
Next Business After Hours is sponsored by ATK and catered by the Farmhouse. See you there!
Our thanks to Board of Supervisors' President Politis for attending our Board of Directors' meeting. Mr. Politis works very hard to promote efforts that the County is leading for the business community.
If you have suggestions, comments, or ideas that you'd like heard - call me. Members are taking me up on this open door policy and I welcome you to do the same.
