Our orphan of the month
Irene
As our Orphan of the Month for March, you can adopt this wonderful pet at 20% off of the regular $165 adoption donation for canines.
Hi! My name is Irene. I am a Chihuahua mix. My approximate birthday is 5/5/10. I am only about 7 pounds! I was an owner surrender and brought to the orphanage on 1/15/12 and I am looking for my love connection. I am also a "STAR"! I am performing at the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake in the play "The Last Romance" under the stage name "Peaches"! I am performing March 7-24, 2012 (the play starts at 1:30 pm). So if you want a star as a forever friend, I am your gal!
Visit this orphan in person and complete your adoption application between now and March 25, 2012 to be able to take advantage of this great offer!
Visit us on-line or call 214-349-ELPO(3576) for more information on Irene or other wonderful animals available for adoption! |

Volunteer of the Month
March 2012
Jeanne works at the Second Chance Warehouse as a volunteer every week. Jeanne has been the driving force behind opening Second Chance Treasure's warehouse interior to the public.
Originally when she started, donated items were sold only outside in an open gated area. Now she has opened up over 5 thousand square feet of space through reorganization and sales of donated items. She sorts, organizes, cleans, and repairs things. She has set up a TV section and tests all the electronics to make sure they work and displays them beautifully! Because of this, several dealers of electronics have begun shopping with us. Jeanne has also organized and separated linens coats and blankets leading to great sales of these items. Besides all of this, when ever there are other needs that arise, Jeanne is there! In fact, when Jeanne learned one evening this week that a client would be leasing part of the warehouse for a photo shoot the next day, she and her husband and son showed up at 8 PM armed with buckets and mops and cleaning supplies to make the space perfect. We are grateful to Jeanne and her family for ALL of their efforts! Jeanne is truly a devoted volunteer who is so appreciated by all.
For information on how you, too, can become a volunteer, visit us on-line or call us at 214-349-ELPO (3576). |

When you donate to East Lake Pet Orphanage, you prevent euthanasia and give a second chance to a pet in need.
The easiest way to make a donation is to go to our website at www.elpo.org or www.helppets.net. On the left-hand side of the page there is a button shaped like a bone that says donate. Click it, and you are taken to the page where you can use PayPal to send a secure payment.
