December 2010 Greetings

Happy Holidays! We hope that everyone is gearing up for a wonderful New Year! Expecting a visit from Santa? Make room for those pretty packages by doing some spring cleaning a little early and donate your gently used items to Second Chance Treasures, the resale shop benefiting the homeless pets of East Lake Pet Orphanage! Or stop by for some holiday shopping and let the wonderful shop team members help you find the perfect gift for that special someone on your list! Looking to avoid the holiday rush? Shop on-line at the following sites, select East Lake Pet Orphanage as your charity of choice, and a percentage of your purchase price will be donated to support the homeless pets of East Lake Pet Orphanage: www.giftsthatgive.com www.igive.com
For Judy (Great Dane), Minelli (goat) and Lucky (Golden Retriever), they have already received the best gift possible this year--a home together! Yes, the famous trio left to go to their new home this past Saturday! We will miss them, but look forward to hearing how happy they are to be in the loving home of their new family now that they've been reunited after their extensive medical care! |
Tang
December's Orphan of the Month!
Tang was found in an attic with his mom (Sunkist, also available for adoption) and three littermates (Crush, Julius. and O.J.--all three have found their forever homes) by a Good Samaritan. Tang has looks and personality to spare, and is a handsome little boy that loves to soak up the attention of his loyal admirers! Orange tabby, approximate date of birth 4/15/10.

Volunteer of the Month
November 2010
Our volunteer of the month for November 2010 was Michelle Bergeron! Michelle was selected based on her long-term commitment to the pets of East Lake Pet Orphanage. Michelle has consistently come to socialize the orphaned pets, and her dedication has added greatly to the happiness and adoptability of our orphans as they wait for their forever homes! There's no denying it--volunteers make an amazing impact on the lives of the animals in our care. They provide comfort to the timid and injured, playtime for the energetic, and most importantly--unconditional love that some of these wonderful animals have never experienced before! For information on how you, too, can become a volunteer, visit us on-line or call us at 214-349-ELPO (3576). |
Our Supporters
A heartfelt thanks to our donors for the past month! Rest assured that each donation is greatly appreciated, and no donation is too large or too small. Each item is put to good use--items that we ourselves cannot use are gladly shared with other rescues and shelters in the area. It's a win-win situation!
