August 2010 Greetings
Sassy, adopted in 2007, is looking forward to Halloween where she and her family have lots of grandkids to celebrate the holiday with! Her adorable pictures is the perfect way to remind everyone that Halloween is fast approaching, so remember to keep your pets safely inside and shut off from the excitement of any trick or treaters that may come knocking on your door. It only takes a second for a curious pet to dart out the door! And keep an eye on the candy bowls, as many of these tempting treats can be poisonous to your pet! |
For the month of October, Our Cats are Our Shining Stars! Adopt any cat, six months of age or older, for half off of the regular adoption donation all through the month of October - just $67.50 (regularly $135). We have some wonderful, frisky felines who have been waiting very patiently just for you!
For more information on our Shining Stars, visit our Pet Stars page! |
Ashley
October's Orphan of the Month!
Beautiful Ashley was too active for her previous owner, and is looking for a fun-loving adult that will keep her occupied with a lot of playtime! She's a one-on-one kind of gal and would prefer a home in which she can bond with her pet parents but have the opportunity to hide in her favorite spot when visitors come calling. She'd prefer to be with adults, and promises to keep you on your toes just as any two-legged children would! Grey, approximate date of birth 6/15/09.
Visit us on-line or call us at 214-349-ELPO

Volunteer of the Month
September 2010
It was a lucky day for East Lake Pet Orphanage felines the day that Laura Wallace walked into their lives. She is a busy college student who still has time for her orphan kitties. She has a natural ability with them and she greatly improves their lives while they wait for their forever homes. The orphanage currently has many wonderful kitties, and while they wait, Laura is there giving them the love that helps potential adopters see what a wonderful addition they will be to their home and lives.
There's no denying it--volunteers make an amazing impact on the lives of the animals in our care. They provide comfort to the timid and injured, playtime for the energetic, and most importantly--unconditional love that some of these wonderful animals have never experienced before! For information on how you, too, can become a volunteer, visit us on-line or call us at 214-349-ELPO (3576). |
September Arrivals and Adoptions
For the month of September, we had 15 adoptions and 17 admissions. We still need your help to get more deserving animals into permanet, loving homes! Visit our website, updated weekly, where we have photos and descriptions of the deserving creatures currently available for adoption--know that this is just the tip of the iceberg, as we have MANY more animals behind the scenes still completing the treatments needed to be ready to be adopted. While you yourself might not be in a position to adopt right now, maybe a friend or family member is looking to add to their household. Make a donation to help support the basic medical needs that each of these orphans have. Or become a volunteer and spend some quality time with the animals as they wait for that special someone to come through the door. Together, we can help make a difference in their lives!
