The Mother House
The Re-formed Congregation of the Goddess-International Mother House is in Madison, Wisconsin. The Mother House hosts dozens of intensives, weekend workshops, meetings, and other small events. It includes the offices of the Congregation, a tiny store, and a place for interns and guests to stay when they are in Wisconsin.
In the winter of 2008, Madison had over 100 inches of snow. Even for Wisconsin, that's an incredible amount of snow. (A recent Madison bumper sticker said, "How many inches of global warming did you shovel last winter?") When that much snow falls, thaws, and refreezes, many houses get "ice dams." When the snow melts on the roof there is nowhere for the runoff to go so it pools behind a dam of snow, hence the term "ice dam."
The snows of 2008 caused thousands of dollars of damage to the Mother House. Portions of the roof were ruined. Both the front and back porch sustained major damage, a section of the front porch even collapsed. The front door, foyer, and interior lamp were soaked and destroyed by the water. Fortunately, RCG-I does have insurance which paid for a portion of the repairs, but, as I'm sure many of you know, insurance only covers a portion of repair costs. But, members of the Congregation came forward, several provided no interest loans, many more made donations to the Mother House Care Fund.
To date the Mother House has:
--A new roof
--New gutters
--A repaired front porch
--A refurbished back porch
And, next week, the final repairs will begin. The Mother House will be getting a new front door and the final touches on the back porch will be completed. It's been a long and expensive process and to those of you who provided loans and made donations we would like to say a big thank you...you really made a difference.
For those of you who didn't have a chance to make a donation yet, it's not too late. RCG-I is still paying off loans and in need of assistance for this final project. Maybe in the next issue we'll have a picture of the Mother House with its new entrance.

Women's Thealogical Institute Online!
The Women's Thealogical Institute (WTI) is a multidimensional school and seminary for women who wish to further their understanding of the Goddess, women's spirituality, and/or women's witchcraft. Being a part of WTI lets women learn, practice, and share their spiritual work with others on similar paths. WTI is now offered online. Online participants take part in regular training with their Advisor and become part of a learning and sharing online community.
