Blessings!

Summer is at Her end in the Northern Hemisphere as we give thanks for the First Harvest -- and a new look for The Triple Crescent (formerly the New Moon Report).

Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, Winter is at Her end and the promise of light returns; happy Imbolc and blessings on your journey!

As you know, the Mother House of the Re-formed Congregation of the Goddess-International is aging and requires care which cannot be put off. The severity of last year's Wisconsin winter has magnified lesser issues and left serious probems requiring immediate attention.

Over 100 inches of snow badly damaged the structure of the Mother House. Ice dams caused leaks into the house, damaged the roof, ruined the front door, and caused the gutters to fill with ice and collapse from the weight. Additionally, the age of the Mother House is showing. The temple floor needs support and several interior issues need addressing. The estimate to repair the Mother House and revitalize her as Goddess' sanctuary is $15,000 to $20,000.

The good news is that we are exactly half way!

We have received donations in the amount of $750, loans in the amount of $3,500 and insurance paid $5,000 for a total of $9,250 so far.

But we still need your help!

You can help by:
·providing tax-deductible contributions
·offering an interest free loan
·including the Mother House in your magic and affirmations

Silbury Hill near Avebury Circle in Wiltshire, England
Silbury Hill near Avebury Circle in Wiltshire, England is the largest artificial prehistoric mound in Europe. It stands 130 feet high and was created around 2660 BCE. Although its purpose is unknown, it is believed that wheat was planted on its flat top and then harvested on Lammas (Aug. 2). The Lammas wheat was then used in the sacred celebrations of Avebury: a central place where ancient wisdom and magic was shared.

Like the ancients of Avebury, at Lammas I have observed a similar custom. I find a wheat field and cut a sheaf of wheat. By tradition this act brings luck to the fields and to the harvester. I keep this wheat on my altar until Bridget (Feb. 2) and then use it for a Bridget tradition, the making of corn dollies and Bridget's crosses.

Lammas is the time of the first harvest and a day of thanksgiving for the grain harvest. It is a time of bounty. Many Goddesses are associated with the bounty of this season. This is especially true of Demeter or Ceres (the origin of the word cereal) who was so closely associated with grain that an ear of wheat was a symbol for her. Lammas is a time when Goddess Women can look for the bounty in our lives. What are the blessings Lammas brings to you? How can you acknowledge and celebrate them? Urban or rural, surrounded by traffic lights or fields the Goddesses bounty lies before you. Gather in your personal harvest and name your Lammas blessings.
