PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
In spite of some wet and soggy days, it's been a bright beginning to our school year.  I have been especially excited about the response we have received about our Back to the Basics initiative - people have been struck by the clarity of the message and have embraced the call to team together and enhance the Westlake educational experience.
 
As we all begin our new school year routines, let me encourage you make prayer for our school and our students a part of your family routine this year.  Perhaps you and your children can pray for Westlake during the morning commute.  Or maybe you can remember to give thanks for WCS as you say grace at dinner.  Remember us as you pray with your children at bedtime.  However you work it in to your daily routine - remember that the Bible promises us that our common prayers for our common purpose will avail much!

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade will be held on Thursday, August 26
 
            Kindergarten Classroom at 5:30 pm                Enrichments at 6:30 pm
            1st Grade Classrooms at 6:30 pm                    Enrichments at 6:00 pm
            2nd Grade Classrooms at 7:30 pm                   Enrichments at 7:00 pm
 
Middle School will be held on Monday, August 30
            Grade Level Meetings at 6:30 pm
                        6th Grade in Mr. Long's Room
                        7th Grade in the Activity Room
                        8th Grade in Mr. Vincent's Room
            Meet the Teacher begins at 7:00pm
 
3rd - 5th Grade will be held on Tuesday, August 31

ELEMENTARY CHAPELS BEGIN NEXT WEEK
 
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Chapel meets in the WCS Gym at 8:45 am
3rd - 5th Grade Chapel meets in the WCS Gym at 9:15 am
 
SAVE THE DATE - GRANDPARENTS DAY SET FOR OCTOBER 1
 
Our annual Grandparent's Day is set for Friday, October 1.  Please invite all grandparents to join us as we celebrate the importance of their role in our families. 
 

 
 

WESTLAKE STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
This section of the newsletter is designed to celebrate our Westlake students and their special gifts, talents, and experiences. If your child has accomplished something outside of school or had a unique experience, we would love to share it with our WCS family.  I am especially interested in sharing special milestones and honors.  We would also love to hear from our Alumni and share their school and out of school accomplishments.  Please email Mr. Pucci with any information or pictures you would like us to share with the Westlake Family.
